SWA MAGAZINE BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!

SWA Superstars and Somebodies Tour Event #5 Live from Alan Carlsen Field, South Yarmouth, MA.
Trace Demon defeats Jake Richards. This was not the kind of action the crowd was looking forward to, and they outright hated it. The only response the entire time seemed to be when Demon hit the Anarchy Crash. These guys are good wrestlers, tonight just was not their night. (D) (10:02)
TriPod defeats Dean Marcus. The first show after winning the Six Man Challenge to become #1 Contender... and he has to face the... unique TriPod. While Marcus is seen as the better wrestler, tonight, TriPod's mind games got the better of him, allowing TriPod to hit the Climax and score a pinfall (along with a humiliating post-match ritual that we can't discuss here). (D+) (9:07)
Assassin defeats Devin Curtis. Devin is one of the smallest men in the SWA. Assassin is one of the largest. You can probably guess what the turning point was in the match. Curtis just could not hold Assassin down when he'd hit a big move, and finally, he just couldn't reverse/stay out of Assassin's moves, and fell victim to the Dragon's Way. (C-) (6:58)
Joe Gilmore defeats Duan Sanchez Jnr. and Evan Pagano. Everyone thought this was Sanchez's night. Ricky Williams was in his corner, wearing a sling, cheering him on, and it felt like a very special occasion. Going through two opponents is a mountain of a challenge, and that's what Sanchez found out. He hit Into the Blue onto Pagano, partially payback for what Pagano did to his mentor last show. But before he could cover, Gilmore snuck behind him, threw him over the top rope, and made the cover for himself! (C-) (9:58)
SWA World Title Semi Final: Nikollaj Punk defeats Korey Gunz. An incredibly close, very good match. These two could not get an advantage over each other, as they'd exchange control segments but just could not take the next step. Gunz finally got Punk up for the Affliction, but Punk pushed off the top rope with both feet, flipping him over Gunz's back and he caught him with the Nikollaj Driver for the pin! Easily one of the best finishing sequences I have EVER seen. (C+) (14:47)
"Whatta Man" hit and Michael Edwards made his way out. I imagine by now that fans are tired of him running his mouth at these events. He says that the SWA Competition Committee doesn't think it's right to just GIVE him a pass into the finals, so he has to wrestle somebody. Apparently, the opponent's already been picked out, too. So, whoever it is, come on down to get beat! "I Love it Loud" by Kiss starts up... it can't be... it's RICKY WILLIAMS! He's in street gear, takes off his dress shirt, and says that he's the opponent! (B+)
SWA World Title Semi Final: Ricky Williams defeats Michael Edwards. Williams shoulder is heavily taped up, and Edwards went after it every chance he got. He even thought he had a tap out victory with an arm-bar, but the referee ruled that Williams was trying to grab the rope, and not tapping the mat. Edwards continued to try to take control, until Ricky Williams countered a Future Driver attempt with a DDT with his good arm! Evan Pagano tried to get involved, but Duan Sanchez Jnr. came down to try to negate the interference! While the referee was seperating the two at ringside and trying to remove them, Edwards hit a Tiger Suplex and had Williams covered, but the referee didn't see it. Instead, by the time the referee had thrown both Sanchez and Pagano out, Williams had slipped out, and hit a Backdrop Driver for the pin! Ricky Williams went from unable to wrestle tonight to going to the SWA World Title Finals! (B-) (20:48) (MOTN)

SWA Magazine Breaking News
More a continuation on a previous story than a new one. When Chaz was very unfortunately unable to compete in the SWA World Title Tournament, there were a lot of options bandied about. One included turning it into a three way match for the title that night, or inserting Dean Marcus into the match due to his status as #1 Contender. In obvious pain, however, Ricky Williams offered himself to the SWA Competition Committee if they wished. And obviously, he defeated Edwards to not only return to the tournament, but advance to the SWA World Title Finals. Michael Edwards has officially filed a dispute with the match, saying that Williams was not only not scheduled for that match, not giving Edwards enough time to prepare. In addition, with Williams having lost to Punk in the opening round, he has argued that Williams should not have been allowed to return to the match. His dispute was acknowledged by the SWA Competition Committee, but they refused to overturn the result or alter the World Title Finals on April 18th. Williams has said he will not wrestle next week, to allow his shoulder to rest for the big match.

SWA Superstars and Somebodies Tour Event #6 Live from the 95KGGO Arena, Urbandale, IA
Michael Edwards defeats Jake Richards. A pretty good opening match. Edwards, coming off two consecutive losses, was pissed off, and Richards just could not match his intensity. Edwards threw him around the ring for several minutes, hitting suplexes, throwing in armbars, and hit a Future Driver. But, he decided it wasn't enough, and then, for the first time in the SWA, used the Curb Stomp, and got the pinfall after it. (C+) (8:47)
TriPod defeats Duan Sanchez, Jnr. How much more heartbreaking can this be? Sanchez stays without a win, once again coming so close he can taste it. He had dominated the entire match, with the only time TriPod had the advantage he unwrapped the padding on the top turnbuckle... when Sanchez was about to hit Into the Blue, TriPod threw Sanchez into that corner, hitting his head on the exposed turnbuckle. TriPod then rolled up Sanchez with a handful of tights to get the victory. The crowd absolutely hated this ending, as they were sure Sanchez was going to win his first match tonight. (D) (6:57)
Korey Gunz defeats Evan Pagano. Korey Gunz came out of last week's heartbreaking loss with a smile on his face, and he showed here that he had not lost any concentration, putting away the accomplice of the Future Michael Edwards after a very good back and forth match. Gunz hit the Affliction for the big victory. (C+)
Dean Marcus defeats Nikollaj Punk. What a boost for Marcus this has to be! The week after a heartbreaking loss, the #1 Contender defeats the man who might be the next SWA World Heavyweight Champion! More than just defeating him, he beat him clean, via pinfall, with the Marc Out, in the middle of the ring! It was a very good back and forth match. (D+) (11:42)
Ricky Williams made his way out to the ring, wish his arm still in a sling. He said that he didn't have a lot to say tonight, he just mainly wanted to say that next week is the biggest match of his life. And if there's one thing he can guarantee, that he's not going to blow that match. He can't guarantee a victory, but he will give the match 100% and he hopes the fans give him their support. (B-)
Devin Curtis defeats Assassin, Joe Gilmore, and Trace Demon. A big win for Curtis, overcoming three much larger men in a marathon styled match. The match ran too long and took some of the steam out, but when Curtis hit the Assassin with the Missile Dropkick the fans came alive. Curtis celebrated with the fans to end the show. (C-) (27:39)

SWA Superstars and Somebodies Tour Event #7 Live from the Taco Bell Arena, Boise, ID.
Jake Richards defeats Assassin. This was a pretty good way to build the crowd up. Assassin, having the size advantage, controlled most of the match, but could not hit the Dragon's way. Richards then, with a quick chance, hit the Flashback, and it was enough to get the pinfall. (C-) (12:30)
Joe Gilmore defeats Duan Sanchez, Jnr. Once again, Sanchez came just heartbreakingly close to getting the win. With these losses, we've seen a physical change in Sanchez. The bags under his eyes are showing that he is not sleeping well. His hair has become unkempt, and he's putting on weight. The crowd is still loving him, but you can get the feeling they are starting to believe he won't get that first win. He had Gilmore in a German Suplex, but Gilmore picked up his shoulder at 2.5 while Sanchez's remained down, to give Diamond Joe his first win in the last few matches. (D) (8:44)
Korey Gunz defeats Trace Demon. This was a decent match. Demon prefers wrestling shorter matches, and he came off as tired, and that's when Gunz took the advantage. He hit the Affliction and then celebrated a little with the fans. (C) (13:55)
Michael Edwards and Evan Pagano defeat Devin Curtis and Dean Marcus. The crowd was getting absolutely restless wanting to see the SWA World Heavyweight Title match that was fast approaching. Unfortunately for Marcus, his partner really didn't have it tonight. No one knows quite why, but Devin Curtis just looked lost out there, and it cost him, when Edwards hit the Future Driver for the pinfall. (D+) (11:55)
SWA World Title Finals: Nikollaj Punk defeats Ricky Williams. This was an epic title match. Williams shoulder was finally healed up enough to not hinder his performance, although the area was taped up. Williams hit a Backdrop Driver early, but could not capitalize. Punk stayed his course, hitting a Nikollaj Driver, but Williams kicked out. Williams then went for a Lariat, trying to end it all, but Punk ducked, and when Ricky turned back around, he was caught with a second Nikollaj Driver for the pin. (C+) (27:46) (MOTN)
Nikollaj Punk has DONE it. He is the NEW SWA World Heavyweight Champion! TriPod makes his way down to the ring with champagne that goes everywhere (not unlike a money shot, but that's not here nor there) and confetti falls from the sky as the fans file out upset. (C+)
