I'm going to a wrestling event in a few weeks and have third row seats, so I thought I would buy a new digital camera. There's going to be a cage match, which will probably make it difficult to get good pics. But what cameras do people have success with?

I have a HP Photosmart 7.0MP cam and used it at a live event last May. If your going to a house show the pics will be dark seeing theres only lighting in the ring With the lights all on

As he hinted...you want something good at taking low light pictues. Even if it's not a house show, the lights are often dim for entrances.

My digital camera works great for events, it's a Panasonic Lumix 5 MP with 10x optical and goes to 40x with digital zoom, it's since been discontinued and replaced with a 7MP with same 10x zoom, but here are some pics that I took in very low light conditions at last years Hall of Fame. Picture of Maryse at the 40x Digital zoom, the image held up really well, and didn't get too fuzzy like digital zoom normally does to pictures.

I think if u aren't talkin about full SLR cameras then u at least need something with some manual functions, such as shutter speed or ISO settings. For fast moving shots u need a fast shutter speed or a sport setting. ISO settings are good for low light issues. Set ur ISO to 1200 and altho slightly grainy it gets as much light as possible. Oh yea and a good zoom!

Does WWE still forbid fans from bringing in digital cameras if they have a video function? I haven't tried bringing a camera to a WWE event since 2004, because they wouldn't let me in with my middle-of-the-road Sony digital. It has a relatively weak video option that I never use, but they refused to let me bring the camera into the building.
Anyone know if WWE still doesn't allow digital cameras if they have video capability?

This is from a house show, it was taking with a Nikon coolpix775 - pretty good if you ask me.

Oh yea and a good zoom! You have to be careful with SLR's. Some buildings consider them professional cameras & will not allow them. I've had several run-ins with security guards in Chicago. If you are planning on getting something big & just for wrestling shows, contact the arena to find out their guidelines first.
