Wayne McGurk Felo-de-se RP: Best I Could Do
By this point, she just didn’t know exactly what to expect; watching it all unfold from where she was, she conjured that the whole thing was set to implode. Being around them, she’d play by her role; keeping her own opinions to herself- ing chain of command. It was only when Wayne and her were alone, that she would chose to speak her mind; always one to what was on her mind- it was like he just wanted to know.
Vanessa turned away from the halogen toned walls and glanced over towards the clock; nine forty seven. Twelve minutes off the curtains were set to draw. Vanessa McGurk and Kat Hamilton stood over the corridor leading to the entrance isle, waiting; ready. Leaning against the pale concrete walls with her left foot planted against it, Vanessa turned away from the entrance curtain and over to Kat; cute little thing that’s as sharp as a whip! Kat didn’t even look back at her, she just stood there with one foot before the other, a whiff of hair covering an eyes, and her lips just nibbling away at her thumb. With Kurt, you didn’t know what to expect. With that look across her eyes, you could tell the girl was ready for anything.
Vanessa closed her eyes, and with both hands behind her, she tapped the walls; slowly growing her way to a bit of drum solo.

left, left, right, left, left.
Vanessa opened her eyes as the three of them came in; Burton coming in first, Wayne holding entrance curtain, Thunder coming in.
See you in a bit…
Kat walked over to the ever approaching Kurt Burton.
Ciao.

Walking up the isle with his jacket curled over his left arm, Wayne wanted to forget this night ever happened in the first place; past couple weeks haven’t exactly been to grateful on them and tonight was no such exception. Wayne was coming in ahead of Burton and Thunder; everything that needed to be said had already been shouted. They we’re being cordial tonight; quiet.
’Their **** to handle.
Won’t get caught between.
Burton pushed himself ahead of Wayne and walked in through the entrance curtain; Wayne had grabbed curtain before it fell back and let Thunder through, before coming in himself. Walking through, he could see Vanessa and Kat standing in along the center of the hallway; waiting. Kat approached Burton as he came through, Thunder disappeared, and Vanessa just stood there- didn’t expect her to come to him anyway.
Hey you.
Wayne smiled and blew her a wink. Proceeding forward, Wayne looked down and watched as both his feet took new and waking steps; black boots over black marble tiles, Wayne took twelve steps to reach her.
How’re you feeling?
I’ll be better.
Holding her by the waist,
Are you ready?
I’m all set.
Wayne slipped on the jacket, took Vanessa by the hand, and led her outside; the man just wanted to leave.
*
Slipping them on the way he did, Wayne wondered if it came on the verge of a bad habit. It had been several hours now, and Wayne’s been walking on that old pair of slip on rubber shoes; sock-less, with his both his damn feet sweating over them- getting them nice and moist. Call him what you want, it was just the way the man liked wearing his shoes. Sometimes, he’d just stand there, didn’t matter where he is or what he was doing; he could have a beer and a smoke, and have the greatest pleasure amidst that, his sweaty feet- moist toes curling over the other. It was one of those habits he kept burning, like nail biting. With the wind blowing against and sand and dirt caught beneath his shoes, Wayne made his way towards the house; feeling all that moist, sand, and grit caught between his toes. From where stood, he was just too close to give a ****. Reckoned that once he was inside, he’d just slip ‘em off and have a cold one; freedom, oh don’t you know.
Wayne looked back and watched as Scarlett skipped along the water’s edge; she was safe where she was. Wayne leaned downwards and sat along the sand; keeping his eye on everything in front of him- the dwindling sun that seemed to scatter itself over the water, the gentle breeze, the scent of grilled seafood, and the sight of his daughter having a good time. Just couldn’t ask for more. Wayne kept his eye on Scarlett, the pretty little wide-eyed extension of himself; just spending all day in her birthday suit all out in the sun without a God damned care in the world. If anything, it was the way to live. The girl had been doing the same thing for hours, running back and forth, up and down, all over the coastline.
My little freebird… Don’t you fly away yet.
If there was ever a reason Wayne needed to give himself to spend money, it was them; could never spend for himself. In life, all he generally needed was four walls, a roof, hot food, ****, and running water- and the man was all set. Somewhere along the way, life stepped in and gave him two beautiful creatures to love and long. He needed nothing and they deserved everything he had to give- everything. And now he’s got this little abode by the edge of the water; a small piece of seclusion, on the edge off somewhere and several miles from whatever they needed. This was their nest; for now; a small spec of heaven he couldn’t bare to give himself.
Slowly, darkness crept over the sky; rising as the shade of the sun fell gracefully over the water- specks of fuchsia and dark orange shining over the water. Leaning against his arms, he felt the cool breeze of the wind blow before him; was almost like being on the road. Going down the road, the night could feel colder than it normally did; didn’t really mind it though- the breeze was pleasant at best. Driving down the highway, he’d have Vanessa behind him; arms locked tightly around his trunk. Liked the way she felt around him. There was just something about her, man. Like the air he breathed and the nicotine that flowed within, Wayne McGurk could not live without her. Needed her; wanted her wherever he went; didn’t need to say a word- it’s understood. Win, loss, and whatever it was, Wayne just liked having her around; she could light and tame his fire. She’d have her eyes closed, and her head, tilted, nestled upon his shoulders; reckoned the way she tends to where he goes’ a testament to how she felt for him.
Wayne looked out against the horizon, towards the seemingly never-ending stretch of water; the kind that just seemed to stretch beyond your comprehension of what was in front of you. It was just the way it worked; seeing the same **** stretch that far, your mind was just bound to slip into a state of ponder; meditating. Before you know it, the mind goes blank- you’re in control. You just ain’t thinking. You’re in perfect peace.
Same thing as driving.
Wayne took a cigarillo, placed it between his lips and lit it. Wayne patted himself, but couldn’t seem to find a lighter on him. Rolling the cigarillo between the tips of his fingers, he shifted his eyes towards Scarlett and the water; the girl, a little more adventurous now, stretching herself further into the water.
Honey Bunny,
Calling out to Scarlett.
From where Scarlet was, the water was directly above her waist.
Yes?
Stretching her word out the way Vanessa would.
Not too far, alright.
Scarlett nodded back, then dove underwater; damn.
There’s just so much I myself tend to forget from time to time. The girl I see out there will, like myself and her mother, be many different things to many different people. And aside all that, there’s just one thing that she’s always going to be, mine. I don’t care what she’ll be or who she’ll become, my vision of her will always stay the same.
I like talking about my kid; I seldom do it.
Sometimes, I often forget what she is and how far she’s grown in such little time. Right now, seeing her out there in the water, just ing careless, scares me. Sitting here, the one thing going through the back of my head is the number one contenders match; no, it’s the safety of my daughter. I’m waiting and I’m ready, because God forbid she accidentally drifts off to sea. But then I again, I often mistake the infant that she was for the child she has become; the girl knows her limits, but she’s willing to push her boundaries. Admirable? Yes; the girl takes after her mother and I in that sense, but she’s also thoughtless in that regard.
Sometimes, I have the tendency to shift myself completely towards one thing; holding on for so long, that before I know it, it has rendered itself completely useless, and I, as man, have become completely drained out. This is my problem. No matter how hard I try. I can put my mind to something else, but the fact of the matter is that I have an issue to resolve hanging over my damn head, and no matter what good I conjure, I keep coming back to the same God damn thing, because I’m just too work out conjure anything else.
I don’t know how this goes for other people, but for Wayne McGurk, this is a real problem. And you feel it; you know it’s there, when the one thing you live for becomes the one thing your body and mind tread against.
This title shot, I want it; I can feel the longing deep down in the very depths of my spinning soul. I want it, but I can’t feel it. I’ve become tired; grown numb. As a matter of fact, after everything I’ve done for the WFWF, I deserve the shot, but I’ll take the cards that I’ve been dealt without qualms. Thunder, you have been my associate aswell as a friend. In this world, we know who we both are, and like Scarlett, we both continue to set and defy our own personal limitations. Now, I may not be giving you the best I can offer, but I’m damn giving you what I have for now.
Wayne stood and walked towards the water. The waves splashed over him as he picked Scarlett up and hoisted her over his arms and led her back home.
