It was here. Finally. December 25th. Christmas. No more traffic jams. No more crazy people in the stores. When I got up that morning, I let out a sigh of relief. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love the holiday, but it causes so much havoc. Thank god after today it’s over. A week from now, we all get a fresh start with 2008.
I’m having Shawn over today. Hopefully we can work things out, especially if we’re going to face two of the best tag teams in the WFWF for the tag team titles. Not to mention it’s at friggin Superbrawl V. I think he’ll like my present. He arrived at about 10:30. But before I could answer the door, there they were. Those voices. They come in like the always do. They start with that distance whisper. David…. Then they get louder and louder, and boom, the voices of those fakes are in my head.
Mary: Merry Christmas my son.
Flamez: Stop it, I’m not your son.
Dan: You’re still on that crack huh?
Flamez: I’m not on anything, I’m not stupid. Now go die you stupid fools.
For once I just blocked them out of my head, like a brick wall had protected me from them. I heard a knock at the door, and knew it was Shawn, but they were actually some unexpected guests. I answered the door, and saw my parents. The real ones.
Flamez: Mom, Dad, what are you guys doing here?
Mom: We’re obviously here to celebrate today with you.
Dad: Merry Christmas, Dave.
That was when Shawn walked over with gifts in hand. When he saw them his face when blank. I knew he was thinking the same thing I was, why were they here. It must be harder for Shawn since he doesn’t get along with them. He walked over very slowly. He sped right past them though. There was a stare down between all of them.
Shawn: Dave, can I speak to you for a sec?
Flamez: Sure, Mom, Dad, come in and make yourselves at home.
Shawn grabbed me by the back of my shirt and dragged me in the kitchen.
Shawn: What the hell are they doing here? I thought it was just supposed to be you and me.
Flamez: I………
Shawn: Do not tell me you invited them.
Flamez: I didn’t, they showed up on there own, I swear.
Shawn: You better be telling the truth. Now let’s go in there and get this over with.
Flamez: Well then what are we waiting for.
We walked in, both seeming a bit angry.
Mom: If we’re causing a humbug, we can certainly leave.
Flamez: Nonsense. You are here to stay.
Dad: Well, let’s start exchanging.
Flamez: I’ll start, Shawn, I got this for you.
I handed him a small box. He smiled, but behind that smile was disappointment when he opened it.
Shawn: I like the Shawn Roberts shirt, but what’s with the rag?
Flamez: It’s a belt shiner, you know, for when we win the titles.
Shawn: Haha, classic. Now, here’s yours.
I opened it, and to my surprise, it was a Flamez shirt I had never seen and a best of HS DVD.
Flamez: Thanks man, I love it.
Mom: Now, these gifts are from me and your Dad. Hope you like them.
Me and Shawn opened it, and they were black shirts with #1 on them.
Flamez: Thanks.
Shawn: Yeah ummm, thanks.
Flamez: Now guys, this is from me and Shawn.
Shawn: But I…
I elbowed Shawn and he went along with it. They opened the boxes. Best Mom and Best Dad shirts. Shawn got up, his face was red hot.
Shawn: I did not have any part of this, and I’m glad I didn’t! You’re not best mom or best dad, because you aren’t my mom or dad!
Flamez: Shawn…..
Shawn: Just shut up, I’m sick of this. As for you, my “parents,” screw you.
Shawn just took his gifts and walked out, minus the #1 shirt. I was absolutely disgusted. How could here embarrass me like that?
Flamez: I’m so sorry.
Mom: It’s ok, I think we should go. Good luck with your match on Loaded with Juba.
They left very quickly, like they didn’t want to be near me. Then they came back. The brick wall inside my head collapsed.
Dan What is the matter with you! We are your parents, not those robbers!
Mary: Dan, just shut up, he is gonna find out.
Flamez: Find out what?
Then they were gone. I can almost here there footsteps running out of my head. Why did this keep happening to me?
