As we all know, AJ Lee walked away from the WWE right before the Charlotte, Becky, Sasha debuts just months later. How well would have AJ Lee done if she had stayed??
I know a lot of people were a fan of hers, and even wrestlers now like Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade say they are in wrestling cause of AJ Lee. But I never felt AJ was truly tested as a great worker/wrestler back then in her matches.
Would she have meshed well with the likes of Charlotte, Becky, Sasha, Bayley, Alexa, Naomi, etc.??
Or was AJ very over hyped in an era where women's wrestling wasn't the best to watch for the "wrestling" aspect of it being most of the matches were only minutes long??
I put this in the WWE section cause I figured it talks more about the current crop of women in the past 8 years or so compared to a "classics" era.

Just based on what we saw in the WWE I think she would’ve ended up like Nattie. A good hand that can get the job done.

AJ was a wrestler who was trapped in the Divas era and was sadly put in the ring with women who couldn't wrestle.
Had she stayed I could've imagined absolute bangers with the likes of Charlotte, Becky, Bliss etc. She never got to show her true potential.

She'd put on good matches with a lot of the current roster tbh.

Successful simply due to the fact that her promos were fantastic so she could fill tons of other roles, unlike Nattie who is just a body for people to throw around

AJ Lee wasn’t that great in the ring. She stood out because of what the division looked like at the time. Same thing with Paige.
These girls would’ve have been surpassed multiple times by now.

So hear me out on this one.
AJ lee was a good wrestler. But not a GREAT wrestler. As said, she was a shining star of a talent when she was there due to how horrible everyone else was.
BUT
If AJ had come later, I think she would have BECOME a great wrestler. If she had been put in a time period where the bar for women wasn't flatlined in the ninth circle of hell, I think she would have had the chance to shine and grow into something more than she actually was because the environment would have been there that cared enough to see her thrive. Even where she was at, I agree she would have put on some good matches with the horsewomen. But if she had 'come of age' in the Women's Evolution period, I think it would have had a 2-sided effect. She would have become a far better wrestler, bt at the same time she wouldn't have had such a stand-out career because she'd have been competing for that spotlight with women like Charlotte who would have outshone her in every possible way.
So yeah, mixed bag on that one if she had arrived later. However, if she had stayed where she was and just continued on to this day?
She'd definitely have been given the Nattie treatment. Unless she was still around to this day and then I'm guessing she'd already be entangled in Punk's business, seeing as how personal the Punk/McIntyre feud has gotten and how WWE seems to have developed a thing about making people's wives and families part of the storyline.
