*Note: I am writing this respectfully and under the full request of Admin regarding current news. Please keep the thread as objective and positive as possible.
It's likely Shane will remain at a distance (as he had) from WWE moving forward, and probably won't wrestle again, especially after his injury at WM39. With that said, do you think he should have won the WWE Championship? There was a lot of talk with him winning it around his "Best in the World" run around Saudi Arabia tournament and having matches with top stars. Do you think that was a missed opportunity?

I have enjoyed every Shane McMahon match ever, I think he’s very underrated. I think he could have won the belt, personally I would have given it to him during the corporation run. Imagine what a heel move that would be for Vince to put the belt on his son like so many promoters before him did, except it’s intentionally done as a heel move.

No, he is basically a glorified backyard wrestler and would never have made it in the business if he wasnt a McMahon.

Nope. He also shouldn't have been permitted to look competitive against the newly turned heel Kane in 2003.
The Kane character never recovered.

He should have beat Kofi, not Brock.
Then drop it to KO a month later.

He should have beat Kofi, not Brock. Then drop it to KO a month later. That would have worked. At the time he would have had a believable run. I don't know why there's so much hate for him. He's delivered better than 90% of anyone on the roster with the opportunities he's had.

I do not see any time it could have made sense, him as European Champ while feuding with X-Pac was about as good as it could have been for him as far as being a champ went.
I liked him less and less each time he came back. His superhuman performances were just ridiculous stuff! The way he would go toe to toe with everyone sucked.

I’ve only seen bits and pieces of WWF but when he was in control of WCW, they should’ve had him win the belt and drop it a month later
No matter what the angle, time period, etc. if Shane were to have won the belt it should have only been for a several week reign to build heat in whatever the main event feud going on was

Should have? No. Could he have done it in some BS way back in the early 00s? Sure.

Should he have been in the 2001 Survivor Series match? No.

The only possible way I would have been okay with Shane McMahon winning the WWE Championship Title Belt would have been a victory over Vince McMahon in 1999.

Shane is by far the most underrated guy to ever step into a wrestling ring. I feel that his name has always gone against him. Anytime he won a match he only won it because he's a Mcmahon, his good ring work and character persona was always unappreciated.
Now, IMO Shane could easily have won the big one but only as a heel and transitional champ.
