Buzz Lightyear is a better bet to headline Mania next year over Cody Rhodes tbh. Lightyear-Rock would be crazy.

You mean when Cody Rhodes made history and is one of two men to be in the main event of both nights of WrestleMania? That man had the Undertaker ready to come back to make the sht happen. GOATy Rhodes will live forever.

Cody is recognised as the current WWE Champ & Universal Champ, that makes him a two time World Champ then. Well deserved.

What was Cena and Taker's motivations for showing up? Were they in full support for Cody? Was it a show of respect for Dusty? Were they that annoyed about the Bloodline and what Roman Reigns was doing to the industry? Was it to thwart The Rock? When did Cody contact them to bring them in? Why did Seth wait so dang long to do a Shield throwback, after all these years and only a two-month journey to gain respect for Rhodes? Once their paths cross again, will they all come back and support Cody Rhodes again or will they leave him high and dry?
Or are all those questions WWE doesn't care to answer and fans are too lax to ask, and it was all a nostalgia hit for the sake of it like your garden variety C- Hollywood script?

What was Cena and Taker's motivations for showing up? Cena was taken out by Solo Sikoa, and had several run-in's with The Bloodline over the last couple of years. Taker has often been billed as the conscience of WWE, and turned up to make sure Reigns didn't steal another win from Rhodes. (Albeit, Taker's involvement requires a lot of speculation - it's obvious this role was originally intended for Austin) Were they in full support for Cody? Cena had previously endorsed Rhodes on an episode of RAW, so I would say yes. As for Taker - who knows? Was it a show of respect for Dusty? I don't think so - if Austin had turned up, I would've said yes due to the influence that Dusty had over his early career. Were they that annoyed about the Bloodline and what Roman Reigns was doing to the industry? In Cena's case, yes - for the reasons mentioned above. Taker - again, who knows? Was it to thwart The Rock? Maybe? Again, Cena and Taker have been anti-authority for most of their careers, and Rock's character now is leaning heavily on him being on the board and abusing his power - but it's a bit of a reach, I'll admit. When did Cody contact them to bring them in? I don't think he did. I think Cena showed up as he had a score to settle with Sikoa, and Taker turned up because...well...he's Taker and does whatever he wants. Why did Seth wait so dang long to do a Shield throwback, after all these years and only a two-month journey to gain respect for Rhodes? Now this one, I would be inclined to disagree with you. Reigns has always been bothered by Rollins' original betrayal of The Shield. Yes - there were reunions over the years, but Reigns never forgot it. Rollins knew that, and has exploited it a few times - ahead of their Rumble title match in 2022, Rollins taunted Reigns by knocking The Shield's theme on The Bloodline's locker room door. And he wore the Shield gear and did the entrance for the actual match itself. When Zayn turned on Reigns at the Rumble in 2023, he hit him in the back with a chair - just like Rollins in 2014. This was another betrayal for him, and the way he sold it conveyed that he was still bothered by Rollins' betrayal. It was poetic in a way that Reigns lost everything he'd built over the last 4 years because he took that opportunity to deal with Rollins once and for all, and it backfired. The respect between Rollins and Rhodes has been building longer than that - it started after the HIAC match, and ultimately led to them teaming up for "one time only" at Survivor Series and then because of Reigns and Rock trying to steal the main event for themselves, he decided to back Rhodes one last time. Once their paths cross again, will they all come back and support Cody Rhodes again or will they leave him high and dry? Cena might - Taker's more of an anomaly. Or are all those questions WWE doesn't care to answer and fans are too lax to ask, and it was all a nostalgia hit for the sake of it like your garden variety C- Hollywood script? I think it was meant to just be a bit of fun - and it was, but in hindsight, it was a bit overkill.

Cena's assistance was obvious. He still wasn't done with Solo after their Crown Jewel match. I would assume thats why he specifically went after Solo and not Roman.
Like mentioned above, Taker is speculation. I seem him like an overseer. He passed the torch to Roman back in 2017 and gave him his yard so to speak. Fast forward to 2024 where Roman has had a three year stranglehold on the titles where he had the Usos help him win most of the time and now he has The Rock helping him too. Thats not what Taker expected of him and he had had enough.

Taker showing up made sense as he's the WM final boss. Cena made sense cos of his Bloodline feuds.
It was great to have Taker & Cena apart of the WM main event again & it was cool to have em get physical with Rocky again.
I still can't believe we ain't had Taker & Rock interact at all since 2002 ffs... it finally happened at WM40. Great stuff.

Love that Cody went into business for himself. The right choice ended up being made. Vince would have stuck with Roman/Rock.

Love that Cody went into business for himself. The right choice ended up being made. Vince would have stuck with Roman/Rock. YES! YES! YES! I mean, that one instance doesn’t mean he was always self aware. Rock/Roman on paper would have been bigger than Randy/Dave. And it’s known it’s some Vince really wanted for a while. I don’t see him bending in favor of Cody.
