Observer is saying that AEW is attempting to negotiate some sort of deal with Punk to buy him out of his deal but also some sort of agreement to pay him so he doesn’t go to WWE.

I hope Tony has the $3.64 to buy that worthless contract out. And they shouldn't worry about Punk going to the WWE. I'm sure they wouldn't want him and they really don't need him.

Interesting. Would it be a big drawback for AEW if he did go back to WWE?

Interesting. Would it be a big drawback for AEW if he did go back to WWE? I’d assume they don’t want him on tv shooting about his idiot ex boss, hangman, the bucks, and Kenny. And he would initially pop business. Probably end badly in six months, but it would pop initially.

What a dumpster fire his return turned out to be. Poetic justice imo.

Interesting. Would it be a big drawback for AEW if he did go back to WWE? Him staying would likely be a bigger drawback at this point. AEW were fine and steadily growing prior to his return. And that was before they had Danielson come in, too. They have insane roster depth, and main eventers out the ass. The biggest loss would probably be the merch money he generates. But compared to possibly dividing the entire locker room if he stayed, and potentially driving the founding members out... it'd be a small price to pay.

Not sure if I completely buy this. Would I be shocked? No, I wouldn't. But they specifically showed Punk earlier this week on Dynamite and he's still on the cover of the game they're promoting every single week.

He isn't in a legal dispute with AEW. Punk is. That doesn't explain the video game either.

Regardless of how bad it ended, I absolutely loved his AEW run and I’m glad we got it. Even if his feud with MJF was underwhelming promo wise.
I suspect this is the end of his career which as a fan sucks. Not condoning his actions but they also don’t effect my fandom of him. If you let the worst fighter in UFC history wax you, that’s on you. Don’t care for him going after Hangman though.
Oh wells, we got a solid year of matches from his run. His match with Eddie is one of my favorites in recent years. Super bummed we won’t get a figure from the match more than anything.

I guess we better start buying his AEW figures.

It would be insane to see CM Punk, in a suit, return to WWE and huge Triple H on the stage ala Vince/Bischoff. Punk as a straight laced company man.

Another thing that doesn't make sense if they're arguing about him going to WWE, why not just keep his current contract? Why do they have to buy him out? They're going to have to pay him anyways.

Punk won’t go back to WWE. It’s weird that people are even discussing it as an option. He didn’t go to AEW because he needed to. He went because Tony Khan pursued him. Think he’s fine with the idea of being done. It not like he needs the money either.

That’s how he just ended up on Fox’s payroll for backstage.

This is my thoughts exactly. If he wants to stick it to Khan and The Elite bad enough,I can see him easily going back. After the last year in wrestling we been through,Punk going back to WWE doesn't seem that far fetched to me.
