Hey everyone, you might remember me as being the guy with the scale model 3d printed wrestling ring. Well I started a website called Create Wrestling where you can get the files for free(pay what you want) and has instructions on how to start 3D Printing if you're inclined towards that type of thing. There's a built in marketplace as well where you can sell your own custom built rings as well to people all around the world. Here's some examples of what you can download and create: I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. If you want me to create anything for you let me know. I also have a forum on there too that might be the easiest way to get in contact for anything custom. Thanks!

Those are incredible! How much did those two cost to make? The cost of everything, not just the 3D printing.

amazing. How do the rings measure out, the site doesnt seem to have any info on how big the rings are You have to click through the links to get info, it's scattered around.
•The site shows they're 16 and 18 inches, but I would like exact dimensions too.
•"You can print our 18″ Ring using $5 in filament." Cloth and ropes are cheap, you could even order some from Ringside and trim to size.
@tjshultz
Any plans to make 20 inch and 22 inch version of the standard wrestling ring? Would be great since the 22 inch $45 NXT Authentic Scale Ring might not be available on Ringside anymore, and the 20 inch Elite Scale Ring is expensive because of the electronics and exclusive figures. Also, would be nice to buy the cheap rubbery ASR turnbuckles because I'm sure a lot of people aren't a fan of solid plastic ones, or don't want to buy expensive special filaments.
What do you recommend we use for the ring's padding? Maybe some cardboard? Maybe a styrene sheet since that would be more durable than cardboard and give the figures a solid surface to stand on.
Are the beams countersunk to allow a proper size padding to be dropped in there?
For example, shave 2mm off the top of the beams so we can neatly drop in a square sheet of 2mm styrene. That way we can have a solid surface to stand figures and it'll be flush with the ring's frame. Then we put the mat on top.

Those are incredible! How much did those two cost to make? The cost of everything, not just the 3D printing. Well the 3D Printing was really the only cost I'd include because they took me about an hour each to design, after a few years of constantly fixing and prototyping. I sold my printers off and paid other people to print the rings for me, and it was about $80AUD(including shipping) for the 18 inch kit, and about $90AUD for the 6 sided. For the boxing ring, its the same frame but with different ring posts. At the time those ring posts were about $15 for the set of 4. I had ordered the 4 sided ring and the extra ring posts and a set of 4 rope ring posts as well but only got 3 of those and 5 of the 5 rope, lol, so I don't have pictures of a 4 rope boxing ring. The corner pads in TPE rubber were like $6 and the set of regular turnbuckle pads were about $20. I bought all of this before 3DHubs.com changed up their business model and kicked out everyone who didn't charge out the wazoo, so now one of these rings would cost several hundred dollars to make where as before it'd run you about $40-50USD to print one. The turnbuckles themselves are curtain rod wire and screw eyes. I got a 3 metre length of the curtain rod wire and it was enough to make turnbuckles for nearly 8 rings, lol. But the printers are getting cheaper and cheaper and the print beds are getting bigger and bigger, so I'd encourage the 3d Printing route if you're more technical minded as you can buy a decent 3D Printer like a CR-10 with a 10 inch print bed that is big enough to print out the kits with more pieces. There are printers big enough in the CR-10 range that can print up to 20" but not enough people have those that provide a 3d Printing service at a decent rate. I've played around with the idea of building my own 3d printer that would be 2 foot x 2 foot to print bigger rings in the flexibeam style that doesn't break down into as many pieces, but I'm still a ways off from doing that. If I was able to gain enough momentum I wouldn't mind trying to do a kickstarter and raise enough funds to go the old fashioned route and do injection moulding for a 20 inch flexibeam style ring. My goal would be to sell them for about $40-50USD and it would include everything for a finished ring even cheaper than the mattel rings. I want to keep things to a real life scale, and if I could I would manufacture wrestling figures that are 6" instead of 7", but that's one hell of a stretch goal.

Could a smaller version of rings be done to be used with the WWE Micro Aggression scale figures(no bigger than 25cm x 25cm) ☺

Henchmen4Hire I've seen some guys use velcro as padding. Just cover the the wood base and the back of the canvas with it. This was quite a while ago so I don't recall how they said it worked out but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Other than I think sheets of craft foam might work. They'll definitely be enough padding I'm just not sure if they are solid enough for your figs to stand on it.
