New to collecting WWE action figures, I have 1.Smash & Slam DDP 2.Elite series 54 Charlotte 3.Hall of Champions Rikishi 4.Hall of Champions Eddie G. 5.Hall of Champions Undertaker 6.Hall of Champions Batista 7.Hall of Champions HBK vs. Bret Hart 8.Hall of Champions The Riviel
I just started so wanted to get some tips on collecting in the box action figures. I plan on not worrying about older figures and mainly just picking up pre-order stuff that's going to come out. Any tips?

I moved this to the Mattel board and misspelled the title. Can a Mod please change it.

Buy the figures you personally like. To many people fall into the trap of purchasing figures because they are 1 per case or may be worth money. I think recently with the abundance of figures showing up at stores for 5$ and all the repaints and rereleases, looking at Mattel elites for anything other than being a collector is not worth it.
I had 2 friends invest into Mattel elites thinking they would double and triple in value, only to drop 60 to 80 percent in value.
I personally buy figures for likeness and legends because I loved the golden era.

1) Pick a wall 2) Buy all past, current and future figures of your favorite wrestler 3) Build a shrine

Have patience & don’t settle for damaged boxes. I’ve left great figs on shelves because of box damage.

Also, inspect the figures and accessories carefully before purchasing, belts seem to walk off (and out of packages) from time to time.

I noticed that my GameStop Macho Man had a slight white srape mark on the bottom of his blue shirt, not bad but it annoys me, my GameStop has two sitting on the shelf so I might go buy one and return the other. But yeah, I have bought a couple figures just to buy them, but now I focus on just people I really want. If I look at it and I instantly want it, I get it.

Look for deals, because if you shop around, you'll find them. Everything usually ends up in a discount store after a few months anyway so patience is key.

If you're ordering any from eBay, make sure you message the seller, saying you are an adult/Mint-In-Box collector and to please pack the figure well (in a box).

Don’t order from Amazom 👍🏻 How come? I've ordered from them a few times. No issues, other than typical shelf-ware on some older figures that were sitting in the warehouse.

I've ordered from there, the main problem is you don't get to see a picture of the actual figure you are purchasing. Sometimes the package comes so badly damaged its not worth it. I ordered a Kmart exclusive Ultimate Warrior a few years back and the package came so horribly damaged that I ended up opening the figure. Makes it a little harder to be a MOC collector. If you don't care about the packaging, Amazon is great.

If you don't care about the packaging, Amazon is great. If you need MOC perfect to a T, then no try not to go with Amazon. Personally I don't need it 100% perfect, so I haven't had a huge gripe with what I've received from Amazon. However, I do avoid Fulfilled By Amazon, as twice I got boxes in rough shape.

IMO RSC is the best place for ordering figures MOC if you add the $2 they come perfect everytime I haven't gotten a real bad package ordering the regular way but if its a figure I really want I always add the extra two bucks to make sure its well worth the money to me.
