I know this is an old post, but I love minor league baseball. I follow it pretty extensively, almost as much as MLB if not as much...
But I have never been to a game.
We have a few teams, but all are from Independent ball-- Schaumburg Boomers, Southern Illinois Miners, & the Windy City Thunderbolts are all Illinois teams affiliated with the Frontier league.
For minor leagues that count, I've got the Peoria Chiefs (the St. Louis Cardinals Single A Affiliate) and Kane County Cougars (Cubs Single A Affiliate)
There's some other independent league teams that are newer here, too.

I grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. For the longest time it was called the “hockey capitol of the South.” The minor league hockey team was the Channel Cats: They changed their name to the Tornados at one point, but they eventually ended up as the Huntsville Havoc, which has been the name for about 15 years now: The old baseball team was known as the Stars, but they moved to Mississippi a few years back. Now the new team in town is the Rocket City Trash Pandas, which has garnered a lot of online support and fame since the announcement. Merchandise sales are apparently breaking all time league records already lol There’s been some basketball and arena league football teams in the past, but one of them have ever really stuck.

You sound like a minor league baseball geek like myself. My Christmas gifts this year were all Eugene Emeralds apparel. Are you familiar with them? Probably the best logo in milb!
