Japan really went through a crazy mix of emotions last night. I wonder if they cleaned the stadium after too?

Japan deserved to get in just on that fact alone.

I have never seen players deliberately scuffing up the penalty spot prior to one being taken, bizarre and embarrassing.

If any England fans are looking for omens I have one. In 1966 a main road in Newcastle was flooded due to a burst water pipe. Yesterday the same road flooded for the same reason. Guess that means they're winning.

I would like to see France vs. England in the finals. France vs. Croatia doesn't seem that exciting.

And how will Spain fare after sacking their head coach a day before the tournament starts? Am really looking forward to it, I assume one of Germany, Spain or Brazil will win. History suggests that it will be a European team to win. My money is on a France v Brazil final. Spain are finished before the tournament has even begun lol Well, I was half right lol Hopefully England can win tonight. They can be beat but they just look like they have a better all-round team than us English or the Croatians.

Well this World Cup has been a complete dud for me. It was not as exciting as 2014's World Cup.

It's just my opinion man, there was a lot more shocking moments in the 2014 World Cup than this years. I felt like a lot of teams this year didn't preform as most people thought they would.

I’ve really enjoyed this years World Cup and I think it has surprised a lot of us fans. Overall, a great showing by England and hopefully something we can build on going into the Euros in 2 years time.
Here’s hoping we get a great final to finish it off. Personally, I can’t see anything but a France win but Croatia have been very impressive and deserve their place in the final, no one gets there by accident.

Yeah true, a lot of teams played really poor. Argentina and Germany were a joke. England too really, 3 wins, 3 losses and a draw, most goals from penalties and set-pieces. Spain sacked their manager a day before the thing started lol. Neymar clearly wasn't ready and hogged the ball the whole time for Brazil. Even the French took 4 games or so to start performing. Italy and Holland didn't even make the finals lol. I just hope the French win it today.

I was saying the same thing but there was some Scottish guys calling up the UK radio station TalkSport just slating the English if we got past Croatia saying we had an easy route. Croatia fully deserve their place in the final. 3 games in a row going the full 120 minutes and they looked less tired than us English! I want France to win though

Southgate clearly realised that most goals in football come from dead ball situations so by focussing on them, they had a better chance of scoring, which they clearly benefitted from. I like France so they're usually one of my preferred teams to win it. Just hope we get a great game worthy of being a world cup final.

If you look at a lot of the teams in the past that have gone on to win the WC, they have had a more favourable route to the final but it’s never remembered once the tournament has finished. England did well and we only have to look at the last major tournament to see how ‘easy’ games are not always that. The teams in a WC final never reach there by chance and both fully deserve it.

Southgate realised what the teams strengths were, both tactically and formation wise, and played to them to get the best out of the squad. As we all know, they’re a young team and will only get better. France have so many great attacking players but I never realised how strong defensively they were, too. It’s going to be hard for Croatia to win it, but it’s a one off game and anything can happen. I’m hoping for a great game, worthy of the biggest match in football, too! Fingers crossed we’re not disappointed.
