Waddup peeps.
So, here's the deal guys. I'm basically retired at this point. And no, it's not due to any drama or ish. I've little desire to RP, and most of that is due to time constraints. I don't really want to write a full blown RP after having written a 20 page, 8 font, single spaced Historiograohical essay on the impact Millennials are having in certain sections of China. I'm in school still, pursuing my PhD. Between that, caring for an ailing mother, work, and taking off as a streamer on Twitch to make some excess cash to pay for bills, (follow me if you have Twitch, name is Sthomde on there, would love to have you hang if you're into games and need time to kill), creative writing competition has gone down on the list. But not WFWF itself.
I've no qualms at doing a one off every once in a while if given advanced notice and time permitting, such as me owing c-scope a match that'll happen this summer in which I will toss him off of the Titantron, same with King Richius. But I'm totally uninspired other than tying up the loose end with those which I've already had ideas for.
When Scars and Stripes eventually comes around, I've no issue participating of time permits. And, God forbid I win, then I promise to stick it out till SuperBrawl for better or worse, and see what happens. Maybe that'll give me mojo. And even if I don't, if I have the time, I'm willing to feud with someone who needs an opponent when SuperBrawl eventually rolls around again (say Schneider decided EFF WORK and wants to have an Undertaker style one match as to not miss the big show kinda thing but wants a semi quality opponent he can go all out on) or work with any new guys who could use a rub. Anna isn't really established, but I'm a long term, established, successful writer who can give them the writing rub win or lose.
That being said, King Richius and CM Poor , I do read the RPs almost every show. I just don't reply because I often don't have time. I read them while transporting to and from work and school. So if y'all ever need a tie breaker judge like I was last month, or a second vote if y'all face off one on one, I'm always willing.
I'll try to provide some feedback to the newer guys. If anyone wants me to work with them on improving their stuff, tips and tricks from a vet, I can always do that. Just PM me.
I'll continue recruiting, also.
Also, owners, if you have a couple of newer guys who don't quite have direction for a feud and you're unsure what to do other than just putting them into a match, I have no issue helping set up feuds. I can work with all parties to develop a good feud story, I'd like to think that was a strong suit from my owner days. Think Drakz and Rated R can attest to the work I've done with new guys being beneficial. Think of me as WWE Creative, but competent and able to work with new guys.
If ANYONE needs ANY help, RP guidance, story guidence, writing tips, my door is always open. Shoot me a PM, my phone alerts me to messages so I'll get back to you ASAP.
Also, owners, if you've no objections, if I come up with a storyline without being asked, are you guys willing to at least hear out the idea? You're doing your own thing, and y'all are doing great. But sometimes a weird mind like mine can come up with stuff if y'all get stuck, which happens to every owner especially when there's an influx of new guys. No one knows how to handle that part, I've learned from experience and word of mouth.
A few things I want to say in passing, in regards to certain people.
Brennan, you're doing an amazing job as mod and owner, a position you took begrudgingly and are already ten times the owner I was, minus the always pleasant demeanor I tried to keep up. Don't let anyone who gives you crap get to you. You've been in this game longer than anyone here I think. Maybe E, but that's aside from the point. You stick it out, while Rich is the good cop and you're obvs the bad cop owner, no disrespect to my fellow former owners but if you stick this out...from the guy who ran this place longest of anyone ever, you're gonna go down as one of the best owners ever. An aside, I'd like to think that, despite our squabbles, we've become...dare I say online friends? When we were kinda forced to work together after the Dex fiasco, I discovered how great of a person you are, working with me so our tag team could be successful. Sure, that was done so you'd win too, but we put aside our differences and we freaking beat Drakz and JD, RIP. You taught me a lot while writing. You never sugar coated, and that honesty propelled me to the top of the fed even if only for a couple of weeks, but you solidified me as a main eventer with your guidance at the end. Thank you, and I'm eternally grateful.
Drakz ya cheeky bastard. Never got to run the place with you if I remember right, I handed off to you. But we got off on crappy footing when I joined, and it only got worse, but it did get better. We had some God tier matches. You were a blast to work with, and I was glad my final run was under your leadership.
Kyzer you get mentioned later but for something totally different. Bro. We've had more ups and downs than I think anyone else. But I want you to know something...I don't care what you think of me. I look up to you as a writer, and I value you as an e friend, reciprocated or not. However, I do hope you feel the same. But most of all, know I respect you. I respect you as a writer, and I respect you as a man.
Rated R we've been through a lot of crap. We got along from a business prospective well, and while we didn't see eye to eye a lot...I can't imagine having run this place with any better partner. We had a great run, we were thriving, and I thank you for working with me.
sonstuds my Canadian broski. You taught me how to be an owner. You taught me how to run this place. You knew you weren't gonna be owner long, and whether it was intentional or not, I carried a lot of your ideas from our ownership with me on to the cluster of owners from Ace to Mak to Hutton until we got someone permanent in Trace. Sorry to burst the egos of others...but I think most will agree, anyways. You're the best writer this place has ever had. And while. I'm retired, if you ever decide you want to crush someone just once, I volunteer.
Rev. Sorry, I don't know your tag, so someone tag him and tell him he's in here. I'll try Revvie® but I think that's wrong. We've never really gotten along. I think we played nice enough because we both respect Mikers as our friend, and he liked us both. But I want you to know something: whether this is a good thing or a bad thing, you're the reason I stayed in WFWF when I got called up from House Shows. When I started and you and C were owners, you were...very, very rough on me. I don't know how much was tough love to get me to improve, or if it was you trying to get me to leave because I most certainly was an annoying 13 year old gnat who had an ego the size of Kyzer's dong. I never knew, and it's moot at this point anyways. This was twelve years ago almost, God knows if you even remember. But despite our...disagreements and bouts of distaste for one another, you're why I'm still here. Your harsh words only made me wanna stay to annoy you...but you know what, it also drove me to want to get better. To prove anyone who disliked me wrong. Because ego aside, I wasn't a good writer. I know that. And I know my history with the jacked RPs sat terribly with you. But you made me get better, and by getting better, I became a good writer, good owner, and melded into the WFWF core as a staple, reliable guy. And a good person outside of here. That's thanks to you, ya know. And for that I want to thank you. I mean that sincerely. I owe you more than I can express, and that you can imagine. Also, I wanna see the Bible Thump return, dammit. That was an awesome move.
King Richius my brotha. You're the heir apparent to my admin spot if and when I ever step aside or we add a new one if HR EVER vacates the premesis, and there's good reason for that. You're a hell of a hard worker. Keep working with Brennan. I don't know if y'all bicker behind the scenes or now because of old versus new fashion, but WHATEVER it is and however y'all work together, it's working damn well. Our numbers are lower than anyone would like, but you two very well have the possibility to go down as some of the best tandem owners I've seen in my time here. Love ya man, keep at it. Boy, am I glad you took me up on my offer to join WFWF.
Prophet of Ash you gave me my start here. You're brash, abrasive and prickly all over, but without you I never would have gotten my first big break when you ran HS before Yukes took over for you. I don't think we've ever gotten along. Peaceful coexistence at best. And I'm not sure if you care what I have to say, but holy hell do I respect you. Your gory writing didn't always appeal to me, but if anyone deserves a medal for being the engine that could, it's you. You never backed down from trolls. You never backed down when RPs were due, you always showed, wrote your matches, you go down in my book as the biggest steam cog in the WFWF machine. Owners keep everything going in the proverbial front office, but behind the scenes you're a damn madman. So many shows would have been effed if you weren't here. You've saved participation and quality for the shows more times than I could ever dream of counting. There were other writers. Other story guys. But your consistency and sticktoitiveness is so freaking admirable. I only wish we had a one off proper match like we were planning before the Quinn match. May be one of my bigger regrets match wise that I didn't get.
And my last one is to someone who's no longer here. Mr. Showtime himself. If anyone wants to send this to him, you can. Hating people on the internet is stupid, everyone knows that. But I think the two of us came as close to that as possible. But I want you to know something, Al. All these people helped me with my writing becoming better, but if it wasn't for you helping me create the outline for my final Malakai transformation from Horror, I wouldn't be where I was in WFWF after that. You've no idea, regardless of what we may think of each other...and sometimes it got personal, how thankful I am for our AIM chats and putting aside our differences and helping me change my character which put me at the top, if even for a moment. You influenced me more than you know, and it helped me become a better person OOC too. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I mean it.
Everyone else I have a statement for, we'll I can contact them on FB.
WFWF is my home. WFWF is my family. All of you. This place means the world to me. Even Kyzer because we share that tag title bond, and I've been watching an ungodly amount of Epic Meal Time since they started a FB series. I now see why MusclesGlasses, while no longer on the show, was a big part of our tag team days. Comedy. Gold.
I know I take this game too seriously sometimes, but it was my escape. Y'all know I've got a lot of mental issues. So to help me keep going through all of that...y'all have no idea how good this place has been for my mental state over the years, and it's all thanks to you guys, the good and the bad. And while I have many regrets, I'm blessed to have worked with so many great people. Great friends.
However, just because I'm retiring, that doesn't mean I'm going away. I'll still be here. I'm a lifer, after all. I'll fill in when I have the time and energy. And I'm always willing to help out. If I have the time, I may even pen a match that needs written for PPVs to get y'all to your deadline. I'll continue BSing in the GD, the whole ten yards. Y'all know where to find me if ya want/need me. And I await your messages, though I'll still be here.
Peace, love, and rockets,
Shawn
