David Brennan’s ‘Riot on Broad Street’ Whereabouts Uncovered!
PHILADELPHIA - As fans filed out of the Wells Fargo Center following the WFWF’s recent ‘Riot on Broad Street’ event, much of the departing buzz surrounded the conspicuous absence of WFWF World Heavyweight Champion David Brennan.
Recent events have seen Brennan falling victim to a series of heinous attacks on the part of his former New Epoch ally, the recently reemerged Michael Kyzer. Kyzer, for his part, was in attendance in Philadelphia, spewing his own unique brand of vitriol toward the absent champion - a tirade which culminated in WFWF General Manager Lila Sleater confirming a Manhattan Street Fight between the two men for Brennan’s coveted championship to head up the WFWF’s pending visit to Madison Square Garden.
WFWF.com reporters sought out Ms. Sleater following the close of the spectacle in Philadelphia, hoping to cast some light on what it is, against the vile accusations of Michael Kyzer, that kept the WFWF Champion out of Philly this past week.
”The prevailing opinion, given the recent string of attacks on David Brennan’s person, was that it was in the best interest of the champion’s well-being that a degree of distance between Michael Kyzer and himself be maintained, prior to their pending encounter in New York City.” - Lila Sleater, 05/02/2018
This official statement would seem to be all but the end conclusion of this story, if not for David Brennan’s sudden and unexpected appearance on The All-In Report, a renowned, independently operated podcast aired daily by long-time beat reporter Allen “All-In” Neal. The rare, roughly thirty minute discussion with the champion was pointedly opened with a discussion regarded Brennan’s whereabouts at the ‘Riot on Broad Street’ event:
Allen Neal: You weren’t in Philly this past week…
David Brennan: Yeah I was.
Allen Neal: You were.
David Brennan: Mmhmm.
Allen Neal: You weren’t on camera.
David Brennan: Nope.
Allen Neal: Not even for a second.
David Brennan: Not a one.
Allen Neal: Why not?
David Brennan: Ain’t me you gotta ask.
Allen Neal: Sleater?
David Brennan: Got it on one.
Brennan went on to expound upon the fact that he’d arrived in Philly, dead-set on confronting Kyzer directly. However, upon arrival at the Wells Fargo Center, he was detained at the gate, unable to so much as enter the private lot. Staff and security, he explains, were under direct orders to keep him out of the building and, curiously, off camera.
It’s anyone’s guess why the WFWF GM personally ordered the exclusion of the WFWF Champion during the WFWF’s visit to Philadelphia, but one can only imagine the sort of fuel such an action will have undoubtedly just added to the fire burning inside David Brennan as he soldiers on toward the inevitable showdown for all the marbles in just a few short weeks when the WFWF descends upon Manhattan!
