The Main Event!
Supreme Gauntlet Block A
---------------------------------------------------
Trace Demon vs. Anna Ahriman
On night five Trace Demon will clash with Joe Bishop in a match that will determine who advances to the finals of the Supreme Gauntlet. As seen on night three Trace’s mind may already be drifting to that clash but before he an get there he’s got another obstacle in his path. Just days ago Anna Ahriman won her first match not only in the Supreme Gauntlet but also in the WFWF. It’s a win that she’ll be hoping will kickstart her WFWF run as she heads into possibly the toughest match of her career so far. Up to now Anna has faced off with competitors who wrestle with honour and respect, who treated the youngest WFWF star as an equal inside the ring. Trace Demon is not one of those men and you better believe that he won’t be wrestling with the intention of honouring Anna’s guts and determination, but rather with the goal of taking out his hatred for her father on her. Anna Ahriman’s best hope might just be that Trace Demon already seems focused on Joe Bishop, if she can capitalise on that distraction then we might just be looking at the upset of the tournament right here.
Supreme Gauntlet Block B
---------------------------------------------------
Ante Whitner vs. Dex
These two men have had very different tournaments so far. Ante Whitner, the current holder of the WFWF Golden Opportunity, has beaten all comers, beating game competition like Josh Dean and Frank Lynn. Dex on the other hand has done… absolutely nothing, having yet to pick up a victory and being straight up squashed by David Brennan last week. Now, knowing full well that a loss here would mean going zero-in-four in the Supreme Gauntlet, Dex knows that he has to win or risk proving everyone right that he never belonged in the upper echelon of the company. On the other side of the coin Ante Whitner will be looking for a strong victory to set up a tie breaking clash with David Brennan on the final night of regular tournament action. That’s not to mention the fact that Whitner still has that Golden Opportunity which gives him the right to challenge Brennan for his International Championship on one shows notice. Speaking of, could we see that Golden Opportunity cashed in in that very match? Or will Dex put a damper on Whitner’s goals, and finally prove that the WFWF didn’t waste a spot including him in the first place.
Supreme Gauntlet Block A
---------------------------------------------------
Austin Hayes vs. Hugh Jass
The only two remaining competitors with zero points in Block A clash in one of the more intriguing matches of the tournament. Two recent newcomers to the WFWF, Austin Hayes and Hugh Jass were both thrown into the deep end when they found themselves in the Supreme Gauntlet, albeit through different means. So far they have failed to pick up the victories that they would have undoubtably been dreaming of, but what they have both done is impress the WFWF Multiverse at every turn, never backing down from a challenge no matter how difficult, and trust us there’s been a few difficult challenges in this tournament, they have undoubtably gone through a trial by fire and proved to everyone that they belong here in the WFWF. But one thing they haven’t done is pick up a victory in this tournament. For one of these young competitors that all changes now. For Austin Hayes it is in fact his last chance to finish this tournament with a point on the board but both will be wanting to rid themselves of that cursed zero on their tournament record.
The Return; Part 1
---------------------------------------------------
Reverend Shadow vs. Tyson Watts
The WFWF is used to surprising returns. In the past few months alone we’ve seen both Phillip Schneider and Michael Kyzer stun the world by showing up in a WFWF arena. But one name we didn’t expect to be seeing any time soon was Reverend Shadow. A former WFWF World Champion, Reverend Shadow is one of the most enigmatic competitors in WFWF history, which begs the question why has he chosen now to return? Knowing Reverend Shadow the way we do (we don’t, he’s very mysterious like that) we probably won’t be getting any clear cut answers from him any time soon. What we will be getting is an opportunity to see if he’s still got it. If he does, it could be a long night for Tyson Watts, who made an impressive albeit losing debut on our last show against Brandon Bison. Not knowing exactly what level Reverend Shadow is returning at there’s every chance an upset could be on the cards here, one that would immediately make Tyson Watts a household name in the WFWF. There’s a lot of questions going into this one, let’s just hope we get some answers.
The Return; Part 2
---------------------------------------------------
Scarlett Quinn vs. Dr. Mantis Toboggan
Technically this would be part 1 if you’ve read from bottom to top, so if you have then just pretend it is. Or don’t, we honestly don’t care, we just write these things so we can cash in a paycheque. The second surprising return announcement this week was that of Scarlett Quinn, another former WFWF World Champion who hasn’t been seen inside a WFWF ring in quite some time. Her return coincides with Penny Shannon’s departure from the company, meaning Quinn will be rolling solo again. Well, she couldn’t have picked a weirder wrestler to return against. Dr. Mantis Toboggan may not have had a dazzling run in terms of results but he’s certainly been one of the more… let’s say interesting aspects of the WFWF since his debut. We’re never quite sure what he’s going to do, which will likely suit Scarlett Quinn just fine. Can Scarlett pull off a win in her return, or will the good doctor finally get that win that’ll put him on the map?
