I play OOTP quite often in my free time, and a neat little mode they introduced for OOTP 17 this year (among a ton of other features) is a tournament mode, where you can pit any team ever with its complete roster (set up as you wish, at that) from that year and the works, and do this for X amount of times so long as you have X amount of teams to match.
I am trying this mode out for the first time and without going into game details too much (if you haven't tried or heard of the game before, it's a big simulation mogul type of game, but has come a LONG way since its beginnings and now is licensed by Major- and Minor league baseball) am just looking for a suggestion or suggestions from anyone who has some favorite team(s) from that timespan.
I'd like to keep it one per franchise (excluding those teams who moved and/or changed names/ ownership etc., which I am OK with having multiples of if warranted and within the time period of '75-2015) but am willing to consider multiples if there were just two dominant teams from one franchise. But in the best of best I'd like to pick the best team that franchise yielded during this time period. Otherwise, I am going with some of the most colorful or unique teams, etc. Not always the best. Since I am seeding and whatnot when I setup the franchise. Not sure but likely to make all series 7 games...
Some early teams I already have in mind... '84 Tigers, '83 O's, '76 Reds (and/or '90.... they were a bunch of characters!) '03 Cubs (doesn't have to be a 'world series' team; perhaps a "What if?" in some cases...), '05 ChiSox, '07 Rox, '08 Rays '86 Mets, '88 Dodgers, '93 Blue Jays, '01 DBacks, '91 Twinkies, '95 Braves, '93 Expos (can use any teams from shortened seasons, FYI)..... just some off the top of my head.
Any ideas/suggestions, I need 32 teams, and I'll figure out rules/seedings and stuff I guess based on best and worst teams that make the 32. I've never tried this mode, but am stuck on the draft and it's taking forever to finish.... so I figured to try something diff.

2001 Mariners were another. I also would like some teams that won a LOT of games, and failed in the playoffs. Some of the franchise's "Best shots" per se.
1997 Indians. Or '95, if that team was the one the Bravos beat (right?). Both were great for not getting "over the hump"
Looking for more suggestions and teams like that...... perhaps one of your favorite teams' seasons you recall finely fits the mold?

The 1992 Pirates. Break Beam's ing legs a win the World Series. Bonds resigns because he got a ring and the 21 year curse probably never happens.

Good pick !!! That's kinda like my '90s and '77 Reds dilemma! Was gonna do the We Are a Family Bucs team, but can't recall- was that...'76? I may be off. It may be out of my dates' time period, to boot. I like the '92 team more, for purpose of a Pirates team for inclusions. I like "what if?" scenarios for these and it's more than half the reason I play 'em... I could go with the '84 Cubs (but that AL Tigers team was so dominant, I feel like even if it doesn't go thru Durham's legs...etc...). A few more... the year the BoSox broke the curse, probably. But I'd almost prefer the '86 Red Sox for that "What if?" element, ya know! I could even put that '92 Braves team up against them ('92 Pirates) in the first round for the sake of kicks. I can make room. Really, 32 is just what I wanted my first try to be at. I could pick a much larger field if I want(ed) to. And I don't have to limit it to 1 team per franchise. Just want some memorable teams. Thinking of throwing on the '95 Mariners, who were pretty damn fun to watch. The 114-win team was fun too. Maybe I'll include both somehow. I dunno....

Was one my list for sure. I like them more than '08 Phils, if choosing one. '93 team can blow off.

How about the 2011 cardinals? Epic comeback to win the world series, a wildcard team Was that the Wild Card (before play-in game) team that went 82-82 on the dot, I think? I liked that Cards team. They really got hot at the right time. Crushed The Nats' hopes if thinking right?.... Either/or I am thinking of expanding this to 64, and making rd. 1 games a 1-gm playoff to even the field to 32. That way, I can fit more teams in than one per franchise or not every franchise otherwise. As I start filling out the brackets I'll post some screen shots. Gonna go w/ the Stros team from the '80s with JR Richards, Scott, Ryan.... Richards might have gone down that yr or the following, but still.... unreal "what if?" scenario right there, had Richards stayed in health....

As a long suffering (until this summer) Cleveland sports fan, yes the '95 Indians were beat by the Braves. The '97 Indians got beat by Jose Mesa... Or the Marlins whichever works.

No they were the team that beat the brewers, phillies, then had the epic comeback against the rangers, freese ties the game in the bottom of the 9th with 2 outs and 2 strikes
