7/10. How many more bad Triple H WrestleMania main events are we going to get? We get it, you're trying your best to lay this all on Triple H. Your starting to reach Thug levels of retread.

10 Yes I'm bias because I was there. But I'm ignoring reviews, wasn't bothered by results, and took the show as a giant form of entertainment. I went to NXT for great wrestling. I went to Wrestlemania for pure entertainment. Fulfilling weekend. Did they look like ants? I cant do live shows hardly because im just watching the tron for better angles and close ups. I get anxious in crowds too.

I gave it an 8. It was entertaining. The matches were good. My favourite superstars of all time came out and kicked ass. The people I wanted to win didn't, but I'm not going to complain just because my guys didn't win. The whole Reigns stuff is just funny to me. Muting the crowd made me laugh, honestly.

6. It's no testament to the performers either, there were some good matches, but the main event would've had me wishing for the end if I hadn't already known the outcome going in. I'm a writer, and simple tweaks would've told a far better story, and may have brought it up to an 8 or 9. Specifics:
Ryder winning was unpredictable, which is cool and all, but if he is booked like Barrett, or keeps it for less than a month, it was a missed opportunity to really put an exclamation point on Zayn/Owens - having them be the last two fighting for the belt on the ladder. They also could've built it better in the weeks leading up, but I'm not going there.
Jericho/AJ was a fantastic match, and I was rooting for Jericho, but if you want to annoint the new guy as a star, AJ wins that match. Jericho didn't need the win, AJ really did.
New Day/League of Booty should've been for the titles. In honor of the Fabulous Freebirds going into the HOF, Freebird rules for the titles. It would've been more special instead of what turned out to be a throwaway match.
I don't really have any complaints with Sasha not winning. The favorite can't win every time (I know, my favorite was Becky). It'll just give Charlotte bragging rights and can lead to a stipulation where Flair is locked in a cage at ringside...but I'm sure they just won't.
Dean and Brock was one of the most disappointing matches in Wrestlemania history...yes. The story is Ambrose is unbreakable. 20-25 minutes. They started it right, Brock dominating. When Ambrose took control he should've beaten Brock within an inch of his life...Brock kicks out. Comeback. Brock annihilates Ambrose. Kickout. F5. Kickout. German out of the ring, Ambrose comeback with more weapons. Ambrose gets to actually use the barbed wire bat. Brock looks about done. Kickout. Brock comeback, Germans, F5..Kickout. another F5, Kickout. Heyman can't believe it, Brock is frustrated. 3rd F5, countered into Dirty Deeds, 2.9 Kickout. Ambrose let's out a howl, last ditch flurry, Brock is reeling. Critical miss by Ambrose..F5, Kickout. Triple powerbomb, F5, 1.2.3.. writing that was more exciting than the actual match.
Shane/Taker, why wasn't Vince out there. This is for control of the company. First have someone bring out the box containing what Shane has over Vince, have Vince stroll out looking confident. Throughout the match, cameras cut to Vince reacting. Confident or worried. Once the cage is open, have Vince get in Shane's face only to have Shane beat him down. Even have Vince try to interfere on Takers behalf, only for taker to hit him. At the end, after Taker wins, cut to Vince snatching the box (hotcha!) Go to the middle of the ring, remove the contents, lift them over his head, and tear them up. From behind we see Taker looking on in disgust. Tombstone.
Rock segment, 100% less flamethrower. Keep the Wyatts, but have them actually get the best of Rock. Cue Cena. Eventually have the Wyatts take over again. Here comes Sting, the new HOFer goes out with a bat. Staredown with Bray is enough of a distraction to give Cena and Rock the upper hand. 3 Icons, Wrestlemania moment.
There's not much I could do for the main event without interference. I don't know if Seth can do much yet, but I'd have loved to see Rollins do something.
Mind you, I didn't even change the booking, I just made a few minor tweaks that would've made for a more enjoyable experience, for me anyway. It would've made everything seem more special, and would've made Ambrose instead of basically making him out to be a chump.

5? I guess. I really enjoyed the IC ladder match and Shane jumping off the Cell. Other than that, the Divas match and AJ/Y2J were good but those both had terrible, terrible, endings.
I think almost the entire card was forgettable. Like an above average, but extremely long, episode of Raw. I won't remember much of anything from that show. Ryder winning the IC Title and Shane off the cage will be it honestly. I'll remember that I thought Reigns vs HHH was worse than HHH vs Orton and HHH vs Y2J, I guess. Maybe I remember Stephanie doing the whole Thunderdome entrance for Triple H? A terribly built Mania, climaxed with a terribly booked Mania.
Oh wait, I'll definitely remember marking out for HBK. Because every wrestling fan on Earth should have been asking themselves "why is this guy retired" in that very moment. GOAT.
It's whatever. I'm not upset about it. Glad I got to see AJ at Mania, glad Ryder is getting 15 more minutes of fame, glad I got to see HBK super kick someone, but mostly I'm just glad we can put this Mania season behind us and move forward, because I think it was that bad.

I gave it 8/10. Summary below:
Likes
After Ryder won I couldn't predict any results for the rest of the night, which is quite refreshing for Wrestlemania nowadays. Austin/Foley/HBK segment Entrances and pyro were very cool Changing back to a 'women's' division from a divas division Baron Corbin winning, he could be great if used correctly Shane's moment... Unbelievable as always General match quality was very good
Dislikes
The event was too long, 7 hours with the pre show was borderline annoying. I was restless by the end. Sasha should have won. Why did the Rock have a flamethrower?! Main event wasn't very exciting at all, and what happened to the no DQ? Lesnar v Ambrose was disappointing. I set myself up for this though by watching Edge v Foley from WM22 the day before...
I was also very surprised that the main matches all had a clean finish, with all the talk going into the event I was expecting some sort of interference somewhere. Looking forward to Raw though, hopefully it throws up a few cliffhangers tonight.

Bill Maxwell ,I think you hit the nail on the head on three of your points for sure. Firstly, Ambrose vs Brock. While what we got was serviceable from the in ring standpoint, it literally was put together to fail at doing the ONE thing it was supposed to. Make Ambrose a bigger star. I don't think anyone expected him to win, so the outcome was the right move. But the execution of the match totally flew in the face of the point. Ambrose doesn't come out looking better, hell he may have lost credibility with some fans , and Lesnar is pretty much just still Lesnar. No movement for either guy really. So, i like your scenario for the most part. Except i would actually leave the ending we got with the chairs coming into play as they did. It would be poetic and somehow fitting that Dean could survive Brocks onslaught, only to be defeated by the very trap he set for Lesnar himself. Everything else you booked for that match would have been perfect.
I agree 100% on your assessment of Rock/Cena/Wyatts
And the other thing i am 100% with you on, is I'm glad its over. I truly belive Vince and co. just need to get this Reigns thing put of their system. Let them do whatever they want with the guy so it either gets him over (no idea ig its possible anymore) OR the whole thing falls flat afterall and they can move on.

In the end, I gave it a 4. Atmosphere was great, Nice visual seeing that many people in 1 place. All the matches just fell flat for me. Nice to see Ryder get his big moment and nice to see Barin Corbin get a nice little moment. The rest of it was just bleh. I wouldve rated the show a big higher if that Rock segment didnt leave such a bad taste in my mouth.

I took some notes and decided to give a little review for those interested. Now as a precursor, I was at the Pittsburgh Pirates opening day game and did not get back home until 6, so I didn't get to watch any of the pre-show or see any pre show announcements, but here is my review with ratings.
Atmosphere: The set, stadium, lighting, pyro and giant screen made the show look and FEEL important. Most people don't understand why others get upset/excited about stages, but it is because it gives the feel of a big time event. Taker and Owen's entrances were superb with the video stage floor.
Match 1) Intercontinental Title Ladder Match: Solid, fast paced, and full of crazy spots. Zayn's dive through the ladder and suplex to K.O. onto a ladder had me speechless. The crowd is eating up evertime these two hockey fight each other, yet it seems as though the feud may not happen for a while. Zack Ryder winning was a complete shock, and borderline joke. The guy has been a scrub for the past 4 years and he wins the title....at Mania no less?!? I'm happy for him because he has paid his dues, but it seems like it will be a 24 hour reign and then it's back to Superstars. Rating: 7/10
Match 2: Chris Jericho v. A.J. Styles: I thought this was a great match, lots of action, false finishes and the wrong winner. Jericho is my second favorite ever but it was stupid to have him go over Styles. Looks like its Styles/AJ V at Payback in what is hopefully the final match in this feud. Rating: 7/10
Match 3: New Day v. League of Nations: New Day's entrance imo was INCREDIBLE! Yet Rusev coming out and kicking the giant cereal may have been just as good lol. Thats about the only good thing I have to say about the match. These two teams feuding is stupid, pointless and does neither any favors. New Day just doesn't have the same edge when they are working as faces. Why can't WWE just keep them heels and let them get over as a tweener group? The post match thing was out of left field and random but anytime I can see a Stunner from the Rattlesnake I am happy. Rusev and Woods sold them like champions. Rating: 6/10
Match 4: Dean Ambrose v. Brock Lesnar (No Holds Barred): Felt way too short and very very anticlimactic. For all the violence they teased there seemed to be very little. No blood, no barbed wire bat shots, tables, anything. Maybe it was punishment for Dean being absolutely blitzed out of his mind during the HOF, but it did neither man any favors. Brock is still an unbeatable beast, Dean is still the guy who can never get it done. It was entertaining but not what it was hyped up as. Rating: 6/10
Match 5: Women's Championship Triple Threat: Match of the night, even though it was expected. The flaw, it fell prey to awful booking once again. The match itself was great. Fast paced action, near falls, submission attempts, you name it. The problem like I said was booking. Charlotte has been winning dirty since the fall/winter with the help of daddy. Usually WrestleMania is the place where heels don't get away with their shennanigans. Not in this case, Flair helps Charlotte retain. Mind boggling because they went out of their way to rebrand the division and went with the same champion, instead of promoting change. Rating: 8/10
Match 6: Shane McMahon v. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell): This rating is pretty much based off of respect for Shane McMahon senselessly coming back o do this match and take crazy bumps to help sell the show. For a man of his age and wealth, this match and spot was unnecessary but it was nonetheless amazing. What is the endgame of all this McMahon family feud? Match had no payoff other than a cell bump. Taker needs to hang it up at WrestleMania 33. He's one of my favorites but he is being passed up by time. Rating: 6/10
Match 7: Andre the Giant Battle Royal III: I don't know if they announced DDP, or Shaq prior to the show, but they were serious "wtf" moments for me, add the randomness of Tatanka to the mix lol. I'm giving this a higher rating than most because they effectively created a new star with a seemingly pointless filler match. I like Corbin as a heel. He is ultra douchey and has a sweet finisher. Hopefully they have big plans in store for him. Rating: 7/10
Match/Segment 8: The Rock v. Erick Rowan: I just wish the Rock would either only come back for a full time program with someone, or just stay away. Same old "goosebumps" and lame joke routine. The only thing I found funny was Rock ripping off his pants and being in full gear underneath lol. They have effectively buried the Wyatt Family to the point of no return. Happy to see Cena back, not the Rock. Rating: 0/10
Match 10: Roman Reigns v. Triple H (WWE Championship): The match nobody wanted to see, and rightfully so. They never clicked and had little chemistry together. I don't like Roman, but the guy has had many matches that were better than this, so I was kind of surprised this as bad as it was. The entrance for HHH was awesome as usual but Reigns was excessive. The fact that he came out second, had massive pyro inside and outside the stadium was ridiculous. Totally slow, boring, and plodding match. Stephanie getting speared was a nice spot, but it showed they are trying EVERYTHING they can to get RR over but can't. The fact that WWE had to edit the boos during his entrance and pipe in canned cheers during the three count is absolutely pathetic, and a new low for WWE. This shows the stubbornness of Vince and it is sad, and quite frankly a slap to the face of most fans. Piped in cheers, turning up music to drown out boos should tell you all you need to know about the future of the Roman Empire. It's going to be a sad sad dynasty as long as Vince is alive. Rating: 4/10
Overall, it was not the worst Mania ever, but it was far from great. A lot of the problems fall on garbage booking and storylines but there should be no excuse for their apex show. Overall Rating: 6/10

I gave it a 4. It was an okay show up until Shane vs Taker. The ladder match was fun and the Women's Title match was really good.
The New Day and AJ losing were dumb, and I don't know why Zack Ryder won. Stone Cold stunning Xavier Woods reminded me why I always hated Stone Cold back in the day. He was a total a-hole but never got payback for it (just like Stephanie.)
Shane vs Taker was just boring. The jump off the cage was terrifying. I didn't think it was fun, it was too dangerous.
Shaq in the Battle Royal was terrible, as was Baron Corbin winning, because a lot of people didn't know who he was.
The Rock beating Rowan in 6 seconds was terrible, and just when it couldn't get any worse, here comes Cena!
The Main Event was super boring, a terrible plodding dull match, which is a Triple H specialty. The only thing interesting was that crazy video with the guys with masks and Steph's outfit.
And what do we have to look forward to know? The Roman Empire? More Authority crap? Zack as IC champ? It all looks so bleak.

I gave it a 7. Definitely wasn't the best Mania, but it also was definitely far from the worst. I'm a little surprised so many of you disliked it so much.
Yes, the main event was the quintessential 'everything that is wrong with WWE' garbage match, which is a huge blow against the show since the main event of Wrestlemania should be the pinnacle. But aside from that, and Lesnar vs Ambrose (which I didn't like the idea of from the get go) everything else was solid.

If the right people won, it would've gotten like an 8. Imagine if Sasha won what the arena would be been like with Akita in there celebrating. Let's be real, AJ losing was just a HUGE you from asswipe McMahon to NJPW and TNA It also really pissed me off that Austin stunned Xavier, like if you're trying to build top babyfaces, then having the legends attack them is just wrong. Also Leauge just should've lost. No reason for them to win. The main problem was that Dean vs Brock, Shane vs Taker, and Roman vs HHH were just bad. Bad bad bad.

This event was straight up about old stars and nothing more.
Jericho beating Styles
HBK, Austin, and Foley just messing up both teams
Ric Flair winning the woman's title
Brock wrecking Ambrose
Rock and Cena crushing the Wyatts
Undertaker and Shane getting most of the spotlight
I don't know what you'd qualify Ryder as but him winning
This was straight up old stars burying new stars

It's a six in my opinion. It wasn't crap, but it wasn't good enough to be 8-10. It was above average.

I wasn't sure what to expect because the build was horrendous but I actually really liked it. My biggest complaint was the length. 5 hours is an eternity plus another hour plus of kick off...that's just way too long.

An average 6, some matches awesome, others poor, it probably levelled itself out to get it an average rating. I was disappointed come 5am UK time after spending 7 hours watching, i expected better!
