I am curious about this, has the WWE tried to get Bobby Roode at all for NXT/WWE?? The guy is A LOT like Triple H in how he wrestles, and I could easily see Triple H molding Bobby into a WWE superstar. I just thought since Samoa Joe was picked to come in, that Bobby would make an ideal WWE/NXT guy.

I remember some time ago apparently Triple H wanted Roode, I dont know if thats still a thing now, but I wouldnt be surprised to see him in NXT in the next year or so.

According to rumors, and take those for what you will, Bobby Roode has been contacted by WWE on two separate occasions over the last two opportunities for WWE to do so. Both situations led to Roode returning to TNA. The difference between Roode and a guy like Joe is that Roode has three kids, enjoys the flexibility of TNA's schedule, and has been treated really well by TNA. He's also still one of the very, very, few talents on a real contract with TNA. I believe he signed a 3 year deal in early 2013. So WWE can't really talk to him prior to that period ending, unless of course TNA finally closes.
Roode has also made it pretty clear he feels a strong loyalty to both Jeff Jarrett and TNA. Given those two things are back to being one thing again, sort of, it's probably not going to happen. Roode, much like AJ Styles, isn't a guy who has to take a paycut to go to NXT unless he really wants to do it. A guy with a family isn't very likely to make that move when he could seemingly get stuck in NXT for a couple of years.
Big, huge, fan of Roode. I think he had the greatest World Title run in TNA history, and I think he was born to be in WWE with the way he moves in the ring and his ability to talk, but he's 38, 39 when he can sign with WWE. He's far closer to the end than the beginning, and I'm not sure that's something that's ever going to happen unless WWE lets him walk straight through the curtain on Raw.

It's a real shame we most likely won't see Roode in WWE. I too would love to have seen him and Hunter together in a teacher/student/mentor scenario.

I remember around 2009, hearing rumors of WWE wants both Bobby Roode and James Storm and they turned it down. With Roode closer to 40 than 30, I think his time has passed.

I know he'll never go to WWE, especially given his age now but it would have been so amazing to see him in Seth Rollins's role.

I hope so. He's one of the few indie guys is like to see in WWE.
We can all agree that TNA and GFW are the indies, right?

Anyways, WWE has contacted Roode multiple times in the past, and he's rejected them every single time. Quite frankly, I don't wanna see Roode in WWE, and I doubt they would use him right.

I wonder how it feels to know you've wasted your career in a dead end company?

It's scary how much he wrestles like Triple H. Wouldn't mind seeing it.

Seems too late for Roode, which is a real shame, he could have been something great in WWE. However I bet he doesn't regret anything with TNA.

I'd love to see Beer Money as a surprise entrant into the Dusty Rhodes tag team classic on nXt. May just be too late in the game for him, unfortunately.
