Why did Jakks mould on some vests?

I love the BCA figures and they always will be my favourite WWE figures produced by Jakks. However there was 1 tiny thing that ruined some of the figures and that was when they moulded on someone's entrance vest.

But the question why did they do it? because at the same time some of the other figures had removable ones.

Brian Christopher

Bradshaw

They were 3 awesome figures but the moulded vest kind off ruined them but yet Stone Cold and other guys were given removable ones so why couldn't they have got them aswell?

I know I'm asking this question nearly 20 years too late but it's something I've always wondered.

Great question.

I don't know if Jakks ever gave a specific reason for this, but I would make the educated guess that the molds were likely chosen as a cost saving measure.

Removable vests and the like were only used sparingly in those early years. Store exclusive boxed sets are some of the earliest examples, as well as the Best of '97 Hart Foundation figures. It's probably no coincidence then that we saw more of them as business began to pick up for Jakks and the WWF throughout 1998 and into early 1999.

I believe that if Jakks had the resources available to them in 1996-1998 that they had from 2000-2002, for instance, we would have seen removable entrance vests for guys like Razor, Diesel, and countless others.

I dont have the figures in front of me but didnt Razor and Justin Hawk Bradshaw (as well as the Blackjacks) use the same vest/torso mold? If so I kinda give them a pass on that because both were fairly early figures in the line. Im pretty sure Brian Christopher figures were much later releases. No excuse on those.

I hate most bca figs and think that molded vests was the least of there problems.

No, the torsos (Razor/Bradshaw) are completely different.

Brian Christopher was released in the fall of 1998, but his name/figure had been rumored dating back to early 1998, so I wouldn't say it was much later.

I wouldn't fault Jakks for not giving him a removable vest, but I would for his over-inflated physique. THAT was no excuse.

I think because there ones that were removable were ring jackets the moulded ones were apart of the attire

Nah Razor, Brian Christopher and Bradshaw's vests were different shapes. I will say that if they couldn't make removable vests for them they should've just give them an ordinary shirtless torso because the figures would've looked much better especially Brian Christopher.

the first BCA i remember getting a removeable vest with were those wrestlemania 14 HBK & HHH figs. Then a year later they had a signature series Rock on a wrestlemania 15 card w/ a new brown removeable vest thats like the ones mattel makes
