NXT puts out quality wrestling each and every single week without fail.

It's certainly possible, and maybe even likely, but I don't see how that takes away from the product NXT produces. If anything that takes away even more from the main roster shows. It's world title or bust for me, most of them will never even be in a match for it. Kinda kills the fun. I enjoy Balor a lot, because I know he has a real chance. What a depressing way to watch wrestling.

I think "world title or bust" is just an ass backwards way of looking at it though. Is Hideo Itami ever going to be WWE Champion? Probably not, but not everybody can be, doesn't mean I enjoy his work any less because of it. I know it's bad to look at it that way, but it's the one belt with any meaning left to it. I know everyone works hard and I'm not taking that away, I just want my favorites to win the world title, and if they don't I get bored, since they are hooked like losers. That's fair.

NXT provides us with what the main roster fails to. Great matches, exciting characters that you can actually get behind, compelling stories and a competent women's division. It's only an hour long so it doesn't feel like a chore to watch. Specials happen quarterly rather than monthly so big events actually feel important and aren't treated like throwaway shows. First, the Blue Pants thing is a joke. She was a jobber who came out to wrestle Carmella, and Enzo and Cass introduced her. They didn't have a name for her, so they called her Blue Pants. It caught on with the fans but is a joke. Onto the real topic, the reason I personally like NXT so much is that it doesn't try to insult me. It's one hour of wrestling and is properly booked. They book with things in the future planned and nothing is just randomly dropped and most people have direction. The workers there are talented for the most part. There are only two or three people in the entire brand that I dislike. Even guys like Enzo and Cass, who need to improve their ring work, have great characters. The women's division is another big selling point for me. As a fan of SHIMMER, I respect good women's wrestling and the girls there are allowed to work with tons of time and are taken seriously. There are no angles where the girls act like high school brats and there are no nonsense heel/face turns. There is actual character development for people. Take the Sami Zayn redemption angle for one. Take Bayley evolving from star struck fan to legit threat to the Women's Title. At the end of the day, NXT makes sense. It has talent and they put on enjoyable shows. The two live NXT shows I went to in March were miles better than any main roster show I have attended in years. I like it because it reminds me of the days when things were simpler. Before production was the most important aspect. Reminds me of old JCP days when wrestling was the main focus. It's not uncommon to see a 20 minute match where I have no idea who will win. Plus the talent down there have more freedom to act out and tweak their characters. Enzo & Cass are a perfect example of two guys I assumed I would not enjoy, and now I run into the room just so I can spell out S-A-W-F-T along with them. They won me over because they were given time to. Combine everything said in all three of this posts and you'll understand why I don't mind devoting an hour a week to watch NXT. There is an old-school appeal NXT has that makes me want to watch it.

I like it because:
- There's not 90,000 rematches between Superstars like Raw/SmackDown - Divas can actually have decent matches on the shows & live specials - Better storytelling than the main roster shows - Great characters that people can get behind (like Sami Zayn, Bayley, etc.) - NOT a chore to watch like the main roster shows (only exception was Main Event...but that's no longer aired live...)

To echo most in this thread, it's the polar opposite of WWE. Which to some internet fans, means it's the best thing ever, because it's actually booked and written by someone who's got a brain. It's not the best thing ever. It's not really great. The television episodes range from decent to mediocre, depending on what week it is. The live events on the other hand actually are great.

Because of all the wrestling shows that are aimed exclusively at hardcore fans, it is the most professional and has the best production values. It has everything that people like about indie wrestling without looking like high school gym amateur hour. It definitely seems to have lost something lately (momentum? Fresh matches?) but they've built up a ton of brand goodwill to carry it through. And it's only an hour long, so even a bad episode isn't going to be as much of a slog as a three-hour Raw.
Plus they've done a great job sneakily influencing anti-WWE fans to think that liking NXT is an act of defiance against WWE, despite it being a WWE product on the WWE network. It's one of the greatest promotional tactics they've ever come up with, in my opinion. A few years ago, if someone hated WWE, they'd just go to their local indie shows or whatever. Now, they buy the network to watch NXT because they think Vince doesn't want them to... They buy NXT merch from WWEShop... They buy tickets to NXT shows near them... And they buy tickets to Raw to chant "NXT" there. In a way, it's similar to when Heyman convinced people that ECW was anti-WWF, despite having deals with Vince to use it as a WWF feeder system.

I dunno. I like it, but I enjoyed it way more in 2012. I still haven't watched it in a long time though.

It was funny when a fruit basket was sent to HHH, the day after the Takeover special where Zayn won the NXT title.

A better question would be why people like carrot cake.

A better question would be why people like carrot cake. It helps you're eyes get better so you can find more chocolate cake. Duh.

Literally the only negative thing about NXT currently is Aiden English, Charlotte, Dana Brooke, Sasha Banks, and Simon Gotch. Everything and everyone else is really doing great, and provide us with the most entertaining wrestling show week after week.

Its a show geared towards hardcore fans with WWE production values. As a developmental organization though, I do not see a John Cena or a Brock Lesnar coming up there anytime soon.

1.Better relevance when it comes to the championship (although WWE is getting better with that) 2.Show is only an hour long and still manages to have longer matches that RAW 3.Matches seem to have some sort of importance to them 4.Matches are overall better because they are given the time to be. 5.Audience is way more involved and they actually listen to what the crowd wants instead of having their own agenda, if the crowd likes someone then they get a push, unlike on RAW where we basically are at the mercy of whoever they want us to like. 6. Commentary is WAY BETTER!!!! Try watching RAW sometime with your eyes closed and see if you have any clue about what is going on in the ring. They completely ignore the match and it really takes away from the experience. Why should I care about a match if the commentators don't? 7. Less advertisements, there is too much going on on RAW that you almost get distracted from the matches. NXT has all the focus on the match. 8. Talent has (or at least it seems like it) more freedom. They seem way more natural at what they are doing unlike on RAW where most of the up and coming talent seem like they are completely forced. Roman Reigns for example seems very uncomfortable all the time. On NXT the talent looks way more comfortable. 9. Women's division blows the WWE division out of the water. It's not even close. They actually treat their women like talent, not just filler
That's all I can think of at the moment. Apply those things to the WWE roster and I'm a happy man.

And Bull only lasted a couple weeks. I meant currently, the people who are always on NXT. And Alex is doing fine.
