I'm surprised you all love Lucha Underground. I tried it out for a handful of episodes and there's only so much flipping and flying I can stand. I also can't get behind ROH either. Check it out around the 6:15 mark.

It's funny how when people complain about the product, they get the "If you don't like it, don't watch it" response.
Yet when someone says they aren't going to watch because they don't like, they get "Haha sure, see you in the Raw thread, you'll be watching in no time" response.

People always find something to complain about. But you are 100% on the money about this.

I haven't watched a RAW or Smackdown in I don't know how long. NXT and ROH are the biggest things keeping me interested in wrestling right now which is unfortunate because I should be and to an extent I am jazzed about Rollins as champ but man... crap is dull right now.

The deal with Rusev and Cena has really been the final straw for me. About 95% of the time they put shows on TV that look like they are thrown together and I know alot of you guys on here could write better tv alot of time. I have been watching since Wrestlemania 3 when I saw that on closed circut TV and have not stopped. I have tickets for a few shows coming up (Raw May 11, Money in the Bank, Raw June 15) but right now I am not buying anymore tickets to a show and after the Raw the night after Money In The Bank I will not watch a show for a long time. I am just fed up and burnt out and of the opinion that I need a serious break from WWE before I completely write it off. I know how you feel. I've taken a couple breaks over the years, partially due to burnout, partially due to not liking the product, partially due to other interests and things in my life. 1986 - only 2 years into Hulkamania, I was sick of it. not the spiel per se, but that basically every match he had was virtually the same. so I took about a year and a half off. Andre challenging hogan brought me back. I was SO excited to see someone finally dethrone Hogan. boy, was I in for a surprise! but by that fall, a new influx of wrestlers got me interested again, and I started watching regularly. basically, I watched everything WWF from Survivor series 1987 all the way up til around 2006. 2006 - my longest break. I basically took almost 4 years off. couldn't stand Cena, or the direction I felt the product was going in. the failed ECW rebirth experiment sealed it for me. I remember nit watching ANYTHING WWE at that time, but I did order WrestleMania 23, mainly cause it was Mania, and I ALAYS watch Mania, and to check in and see what was going on. I was disappointed. I didn't even bother with Mania 24,which was only the 2nd Mania PPV I missed - ever ( the first one was Mania 8 , which couldn't be helped because I was working that day, and missed the live show and the replay). ...started to get back in a bit during the second half of 2010, and more in 2011, and I've been watching pretty regularly since then. I've got a similar timeline. I was a die-hard NWA fan as a kid, none of the weekly shows or quarterly PPVs could pass me by, and in-between I read and re-read every Apter magazine I could get my hands on. And I too was sick of Hulkamania and just wanted to see Hogan de-throned (so I can relate to the current audience re: John Cena). I probably kept this up right to the very day WCW ran it's last show and Sting/Flair closed the program down. Then I lost interest for a few years, missed the Smackdown Six live which I sorely regret - but kind of kept my ear on the business throughout the 2000s. I've wanted to love RAW the way I loved Saturday morning wrestling but the writing is about 98% crap. I probably have't watched a complete RAW in the last 5 years. There's tremendous potential in the younger generation of wrestlers now, they just need GIMMICKS, storylines, and no more throw-away matches.

I watched almost every Raw from '97 until recently. The best part about it back then (anything up until 2001) was everything meant something, every match, every segment. Guys had characters, personality, had scores to settle. Nowadays there is just far too much TV for WWE to produce for anything to matter. The over-saturation has killed my interest. The same segments, the same formulas, the same tired authority angles that have gone on for years.. Everything I enjoy about wrestling doesn't exist in WWE anymore.

There's something to be said for shows like WWF Superstars or World Championship Wrestling Power Hour - those all had throw-away matches, but it was against jobbers. It was to showcase the superstar. The real magic happened when superstars would cut promos on each other in-between the jobber matches and furthered their story-lines. Then in the main-event you'd get a PPV-worthy match between two superstars to, you guessed it, further their story-line until the PPV!
All that in 1 freakin hour, not 3.

Just buy the network and only watch the ppv's... I typically only watch the raws right after a ppv and of course all the ppvs. As people have mentioned, NXT is good as well. But we all get burned out... Heck, even when wrestling was amazing in 2002 I took a break for 2 years.

Seriously. It's like the best of old school territory wrestling combined with the best of contemporary wrestling. I love pretty much everything about it.

I think if you're to take a break, it needs to be completely moving yourself away from it, as in not checking results. That way your negative opinion should subside and when you do find it again, it should be fresh.
I didn't watch between 2006-11, so came back to Punk, Ziggler, Barrett, etc, which helped me get back into it, as these were all new guys who I hadn't seen/heard much of.

Ivelisse Velez. She is incredibly sexy and really talented imo. When she was Sofia Cortez in WWE, she was my favorite Diva to watch at the FCW shows.

As for the OP, if it weren't for covering Smackdown, I probably wouldn't be watching any WWE weekly shows. Its become a chore at this point to sit through.

Why do people think these kind of threads matter?
I'm 1000% sure that nobody on here cares if you watch or not.
