It seems that Chavo has always been stuck in Eddie's shadow. Even now, one cannot talk about Chavo without talking Eddie. He's in a weird situation when talking about legacies because of that.
Personally, I always thought Chavo had just as good wrestling ability as Eddie, albeit with maybe 3/4ths of the charisma. He was part of Paul Heyman's self-appointed "SmackDown Six" in 2002 (with Eddie, Mysterio, Edge, Benoit and Angle), had a nice niche in the Cruiserweight Divison for a while, and then suddenly DROPPED. Lost the CW title to Hornswoggle of all people, became a punching bag for La Familia, and eventually squandered around till he was getting beat by a green-as-grass Sin Cara and Hornswoggle and suddenly he was gone.
My question to you is: what did Chavo have that Eddie didn't? Was it that he had more of a technical mean streak to him while Eddie was more of a charismatic, high-tempo wrestler? Conversely, what did Chavo lack that stuck him in the shadow of Eddie and ultimately the backburner in WWE? In all I'm just curious to hear your opinions on Chavo Guerrero. I always thought he got a hell of a lot less credit than he deserved.

Let's not and say we did.
Ha ha just kidding.
But seriously, I never liked Chavo. And it's not because of how great Eddie was with wrestling or charisma, I think that even if Chavo was another wrestler and not related to Eddie Guerrero, I wouldn't have liked him.
He just never did anything for me.
The only time he was ever really over was when he was in Los Guerreros from late 2002 - late 2003. That was his best year, and anything after that hasn't been good.
Chavo did however have a great time during the 2000 year in WCW as Lt. Loco. He was entertaining then, but it seemed as he got older, he got boring or something. It's really hard to say what it was.

Chavo just didn't have the "it factor" that Eddie did. Eddie was charismatic as hell and had a special connection with the audience. Chavo, as talented as he was, just never had those qualities to him.

Chavo, as talented as he was, just never had those qualities to him. That sums it up nicely. He technically was a very good wrestler. But just couldn't find a real way to connect with the fans. He only did as well as he did because of his last name. He might be one of the most vanilla mexican wrestlers I have ever seen.

I love Chavo, he's one of my all time favorites. He was decent on the mic but like it was stated before he just didn't have the "it" factor.

No lie, I thought Kerwin White was one of Vince's greatest creations ever.

No lie, I thought Kerwin White was one of Vince's greatest creations ever. So far from it. "If it ain't White, it ain't right." Is one of the worst catchphrases anybody on TV could use.

Lol, yeah you're right. I guess I didn't mean what I said literally. I just thought it was really funny at the time.

I just thought it was really funny at the time. Something about turning a Latino into an upscale stereotypical Caucasian is funny, and I bet Vince legitimately thought it was the greatest idea ever lol

Chavo, like Eddie,is a good wrestler, but what he lacks, Eddie had in spades. Eddie has charisma, he stood out among the other heels or faces, Chavo just sort of blended in.

It's proof positive that you absolutely need charisma to connect with the audience; as great as a wrestler as you are, if you can't make people invest and care about you, well...here we are...

Chavo was Marty Jannetty. Every bit as good as Eddie(Shawn) in the ring, but just didn't have a fraction of the charisma.

Big fan of Chavo, great wrestler, never World-Title material but I think he could have been bigger than he was.
