This is how I see Goldust and Stardust breaking up. After they lose to oh, maybe Los Matadores on WWE Fast Lane, instead of attacking each other, Goldust tells Stardust that he's on his own now while Goldust walks away. This will allow Cody Rhodes to retain the Stardust character simply because I heard rumors that Vince McMahon likes the character as he feels that the Cody Rhodes character has gotten too outdated just like Papa Shango, Husky Harris, and Johnny Curtis. Your thoughts?

I don't give a  how they break up so long as it leads to one of two things. 1) Main event Cody Rhodes. I've been clamoring and bitching for this sh*t for four ing years, and three of those years, we were close. 2) Stardust goes full-on Kefka Pallazo. Cody likes video games, anyways. Option number one is much more favorable, though. |

If you've heard rumours that Vince likes Cody, why do you keep thinking he's going to be fired? Did the same people you rang up about WWE magazine tell you these rumours?

Hmm, I wonder how I knew who created this thread just from the title alone...
Anyway, it's really in Cody's best interests not to split up. He doesn't have what it takes to be a main eventer, he's a solid mid carder at best. And this whole Stardust thing has been the first time he's actually been an interesting personality since shortly after his debut.

In 2011 it could have happened because Undashing was amazing.
In 2012 it could have happened because his IC Title run was good.
In 2014 it could have happened because at the end of 2013, he was the MOST OVER FACE not named Daniel Bryan.

I only clicked on this thread because of the OP. That being said, reading the line that Goldust is outdated like "Papa Shango, Husky Harris and Johnny Curtis" made my coming here well worth it.
I suspect though that we'll just start seeing Stardust more in singles action and Goldust will just sort of... fade away. WWE won't give a reason or make mention of it because that would simply make too much sense and you're reading too far into this if you think that they will.

I hope not. I've been a Rhodes fan ever since his early days in Legacy and loved everything he's done from Dashing to Rhodes Brothers. And now that he's Stardust I don't give a single what he does cause it sucks. He's been in my top 5 current favorites ever since I can remember and I really hope the bastard doesn't continue his career in that silly paint. |

They come out one night and Cody is in Goldust makeup and Dustin is in Stardust makeup. Nothing is said for weeks and then "Stardust" quits. Cody is the new Goldust and the gimmick lives on. Because, booking. |

Cody and Sandow seem to be the guys hurt the most by the WWE title and the WH title becoming one a little over a year ago. Both seemed to be looking at a good match at Mania against each for the WH title with Sandow with the briefcase and Cody being a guy chasing after him and also going against the authority.

This is what I said last time.
Cody gets sick of trying to be like his brother. He explains how he gave it a chance to save their brotherhood but it didn't work and that he can never be the freak his brother is and that he feels ashamed to be related to him. To prove who the better brother is and the loser is fired, the two have a match and Cody gets a dirty win allowing Goldust to fully retire like it's been rumored and for Cody to be set up as a heel which he excels at being

Hopefully he keeps the stardust gimmick. Obviously Cody is into the gimmick. If Goldust just fades away I can see them keeping stardust around. If they have a match at mania (finally) I could see him coming out as generic Cody so it doesn't look like the same guy fighting each other. I think Stardust
Is his best chance of staying relevant and not getting lost as just another body.

If there were still two titles, Rhodes would be an easy favorite of mine to be the 2nd champion. With the unified titles? I don't think I ever want to see Cody with it. He's a fantastic mid to upper mid carder, but main event? I just don't see it.

I'm not really sure it'd make sense for him to just drop the Stardust character and start acting normal again, and the upper midcard crazy spot is already filled with Dean Ambrose.
