I will also chime in to say that this was a wonderful thread and I really like seeing someone take the time to really enrich the community with a useful thread like this. am also a fan of doing comparisons between old and new figures. I do it a lot with marvel action figures. I like to take 90's toybiz and compare them to legends, old Joes to new Joes, and someone else also mentioned the Masters of the Universe classics.

Awesome thread! I love the Hasbros, I have the whole set MOC and many loose. They were are still are the greatest wrestling figures ever made! Hope to see Mattel make Sid, Giant Gonzales and Warlord from that last pic. Thanks for posting this.

I started collecting during Jakks BCA days so I missed out on the HASBRO line. I appreciate all of this time you took to show us comparison pictures. I never knew how much influence older toy lines had on Mattel. Great stuff you got there!

I love the beefy look of Hacksaw, Demolition, the Bushwhackers, Kamala, etc. Out of all those people pictured in the last photo, I want Koko B. Ware the most. Imagine Frankie with wings that can flap.

and we've still got Earthquake, RSC Shawn Michaels, and IRS coming to help fill out the roster as well. and I think a case can be made that the upcoming HOF Hogan will work very well for this Hasbro:

Nice Yellow Boots Dusty Rhodes. I'd like to see Sid, Anvil, IRS, Typhoon, 123 Kid, and a solo Jannetty.

I read Animal's book and really enjoyed it so doubly cool to hear you designed it! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! :-)

I loved this thread! Great photos ... I have such fond memories of collecting the Hasbro figures when I was little.
Of the Hasbro figures remaining, I'd be most interested in a Sid Vicious/Justice, Koko B. Ware, and the Mountie. Please, Mattel, give us a Mountie.

The Mania 31 Taker seems based off the Hasbro Taker. They are very similar.

Wow. This is a really fun comparison, thanks for putting it together. Really illustrates how bad and even how good some of the Hasbros were.

Did Hasbro ever make a Diesel? Nah but they planned another series with Diesel, Bastion Booger, Jeff Jarrett, Men on a Mission and Owen Hart but it never came out.

I have wanted Hogan in that attire for YEARS...all based on the fact that I could never have that Hasbro!!

Love it! Incredible how well the Hasbro line still stands up in 2015. Legendary.

Man!!! what a great look this thread was, thanks for putting it up. from the who's left section in your thread we will never get a mattel figure for owen, mountie and nailz all for obvious reasons. all the others I am confident we will get before the line ends.
