A cloth tearaway shirt like Jakks gave us with CS8 would've been the best way to go. Otherwise, they would've been better off just doing a normal rubber shirt. I plan on displaying it with E34 Hogan's "Hulk Rules" shirt that he's going to come with once it's released.

I have my Hogan in a pose with him tearing his shirt off with the belt on, and it looks just fine. I don't see what all the complaining is about.

I'm amazed people don't like the scan. To me, it's one of the best figures scans I've ever seen. And I wasn't even a Hulk-a-Maniac! Looks just like this... This! The likeness is spot-on to me. And I don't really understand the complaints about the "holes in his head": 1. they are not in his head - they are in his hair at the side 2. they are barely noticeable as "holes" - they just look like part of the hair-style 3. at least Mattel are giving you the option of removing Hulk's bandana... all the Jakks (and Hasbro) ones were fixed or molded on 4. if you don't like the "holes", just leave the bandana on - most people will probably display him like this anyway(!) 5. get over it and stop being so picky - this is the best '80's Hogan figure EVER Would it help if I rephrased it to, "I don't like the big obvious holes in his hair, when the bandana is off?" I'm happy that you feel they're barely noticeable, and blend with the hair style. I feel differently. They look very obvious, and to me it doesn't look like it blends with the hair. I just feel that with a little more attention, it could have been pull off better looking. You might like the bandana being on, other's don't. Personally I don't like it. Sadly the other option is even less appealing. I am glad that the bandana is removable, but I just think it could have been executed a little better looking for when the bandana is off. Not meaning to complain, just voicing my feedback for the next time the removable bandana is done.
Honestly, if the holes were a little tighter, still accomplished the same task, and looked even less noticeable to everyone... you telling me you'd still rather it be the way it currently is?
And yeah, I still agree (somewhat)... This is ONE OF the best '80s Hogan figures ever. I'm certainly not trying to act like I don't like the figure. Sorry if it seems like being "so picky" but fans voicing their feedback is the only way that things get fixed for the next time around.

I don't know, maybe it's just me, but this could look a lot better IMO - When the light isn't directly straight on the face - (This is how it looks most of the time, when not having a flash for photos coming from straight on)
With straight on lighting, not terrible but not great -
Again, sorry for this seeming like complaining. It's more of a "this could have looked better" sort of feeling. But I'm pretty surprised at how so many people see this and think, "that looks great!" Once more, to stress the point... I really do like the figure. Don't get me wrong. Just hoping to see this issue addressed next time around.

having opened my DM hogan today,I can say that...yes,it's not the most perfect figure ever created. I know some will lynch me for this, but hear me out! The Headsculpt: this one is kinda weird. at certain angles it looks like Hogan,at others it looks like a 70's porn star. not saying it's terrible, just saying I wish it was better. The Belt: yeah,it's sculpted great, and the front plate is painted great, but why no paint on the side plates? yeah,I know there's plenty of them that don't have it - Cruiserweight,Spinner WWE, ECW,hell the current WWE Championship! but there's also plenty that do - European, Spiiner US, Undisputed WWE. this one really needed the color that popped out from the sides on the real Belt. The Shirt: Mattel failed us here. I have to say it. the concept was great, the execution not so much. it's really kind of bulky, sticks out too far in the front, and fits more like a vest than a form-fitting shirt. and the feature of it - to pose him ripping the shirt open,is really awkward looking with the Belt on,so you can pretty much only pose it like that without the Belt. should've just been the standard shirt that snaps closed on the sides. overall,I'm mostly happy with him. and using my Ralph's shirt instead makes him look much better to me. but he's not the 100% home run I expected for the much-hyped first Mattel release . at least in my opinion. I gotta say, I think mattel knows the shirt sucks that's why they're giving us the other one with 2014 Hogan. I LOVE this idea, hey if they messed up or forgot something then put it in with another version of the SAME figure. Knowing us, they should know that if we buy one hogan (for example - like savage or warrior) we're gonna buy ALL of them. Give or take but still...at least they've 'fixed' this stupid shirt.

Figure has been a hot mess since day one. It's one of those Mattel, squint and you can kind of see the wrestler figures. But the belt is awesome and the body is decent and it's Hogan, so it's a buy. But definitely wishing I hadn't sold off my much superior no paint custom. Alas, maybe I'll make another or wait for Mattel to get it right. Surely there's some better Hogans coming down the pike.

Didn't Jakks make a similar figure to the new red shirt basics that is coming out?
