having opened my DM hogan today,I can say that...yes,it's not the most perfect figure ever created. I know some will lynch me for this, but hear me out! The Headsculpt: this one is kinda weird. at certain angles it looks like Hogan,at others it looks like a 70's porn star. not saying it's terrible, just saying I wish it was better. The Belt: yeah,it's sculpted great, and the front plate is painted great, but why no paint on the side plates? yeah,I know there's plenty of them that don't have it - Cruiserweight,Spinner WWE, ECW,hell the current WWE Championship! but there's also plenty that do - European, Spiiner US, Undisputed WWE. this one really needed the color that popped out from the sides on the real Belt. The Shirt: Mattel failed us here. I have to say it. the concept was great, the execution not so much. it's really kind of bulky, sticks out too far in the front, and fits more like a vest than a form-fitting shirt. and the feature of it - to pose him ripping the shirt open,is really awkward looking with the Belt on,so you can pretty much only pose it like that without the Belt. should've just been the standard shirt that snaps closed on the sides. overall,I'm mostly happy with him. and using my Ralph's shirt instead makes him look much better to me. but he's not the 100% home run I expected for the much-hyped first Mattel release . at least in my opinion.

The 70's porn star comment, that's kinda what Hogan looks like lol, so I'd say good job Mattel.

I don't mind your complaints as much as wishing the skin tone was darker.
At least we have more Hogans coming out so I hope Mattel will execute it a little better.

That Ralph's shirt is much better . Can I ask what size you ordered it in? Was it fit for a jakks r.a figure?

I got mine on Wednesday (tracking said Thursday, so thanks for the fast shipping) and the only real problem I have with the figure is the skin tone.
RSC shipped a little catalog in the box along with the figure with various new waves of figures and some coming soon, and the Basic Hogan looks like he is about 5 shades darker than the DM version. In the pic in that catalog anyway. The Signature Series one (new Hogan with shirt, pants and sunglasses) looks as pale as the DM one as well. Why the difference in the Basics and DM? I wonder what the Elite will look like?
I just wonder why Mattel went with the lighter skin tone? Other than that, I am pretty happy with the figure.

I too hate the shirt but love this figure. I kinda hate the gap holes for the bandana as well.

Got mine yesterday and I love it. I think the scan is great. And I have mine posed ripping off his shirt.
If I had to nitpick, the hair could have been blonder (like Flair & Ziggler's) and the skin could be a tad more "hotdog-ish", but again... that nitpicking.

I personally think the old Jakks Classic Superstars head would look good!

I agree that it could be a bit better. The shirt isn't great, but I applaud them for the effort. The sculpt looks great with the bandanna on to me. Captures that era Hogan great IMO. However, with it off, the sculpt looks a bit off. I think it is just the hair that throws me especially the top. It is still a great figure though just a couple of nit picky things.

I wish Mattel's paint apps weren't so.... Cartoonish. Sone figure look great, but most end up looking like a comic strip version of themselves.
Edit: To add to this. I think the minute Mattel found out Hogan was signing, they had their sculpter bust his ass for a sculpt. I think the hogan figures after this one, will be scanned.

The only thing I wanted was for a darker skin tone. Hogan's always had a bit more red to him. I'm happy with it otherwise. I can't wait for Hollywood Hogan.

I'm not a fan of the headscan (particularly the hair) at all either... pre-ordered a BO2014 Hogan to do a headswap... and probably ordering a different shirt and some tights from Ralphs soon after that.

Q: Can you pose the shirt with the two sides held in each hand or is that not possible?
While I like the young look for Hogan, but at times, I wish his face was more expressive.
I'm starting to dislike these neutral face sculpts. (Basic 44 Kane, I'm looking at you, brother.) The dead eyes are what irk me.
