With the world series, I've been thinking about the missed opportunity that WWE has not had a best-of-7 series in 10 years! Chris Benoit and Booker had a series for the US Championship. I think a good one to see would be Dolph Ziggler vs. Antonio Cesaro for the Intercontinental Championship. Especially since it's called Survivor Series, it would be cool to see the last match of a series there. But it looks like WWE is too basic to even have an idea like that. They just have Ziggler in the shadow of "team Cena" :/

Ziggler just beat him 2-0, why would he agree to a best of seven? Besides, that's six matches over the next four weeks. Personally, I'd get sick of seeing it.

I don't know why they went with 2-0 at HIAC. They never do that for 2/3 falls matches. I wonder why they've been booking Cesaro so poorly. Well, the matches would be great, so maybe stretch them out over two PPVs? WWE is already so fond of rematch after rematch, so even if they did it, it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary.

I could see it being done over the span of a few months, but it wouldn't make sense from any booking standpoint. I'd bet Cesaro's poor booking is due to his lack of personality. He's fantastic in the ring, but man, he's just god awful as a character.

I love the best of seven concept and would like to see WWE use it. The Cabana/Pearce for the NWA a while back was really good. I don't think of best of 7's as WWE benchmarks but maybe that's a good thing because it would be fresh. I can definitely see this working. Pretty good idea man.

i didn't even realize booker/benoit had a second best of 7 series...i still remember watching their original series on wcw. big time matches!
i'd be open to the idea of one, as long as the two competitors could get interesting matches out of each other each time. ziggler would be a perfect candidate.

I'm all for this. Ziggler already has 2 victories. Thats 1 match a week, and the final at Survivor Series. These two would be the ones that could pull this off without each match being a carbon copy of their last.

I like the idea actually. Logic wise it does come across as flawed cause they just kind of did that with the best of three, and personally I love that Ziggler just swept. The fact that they never do that and did that time was a nice treat.

Although Randy Orton replaced Booker for the last three matches.

Booker still owes Orton that favor

Haven't they already had like a best of nineteen series over the last month anyway?
It's a terrible idea. The last thing Cesaro and Ziggler need is more pointless, storyless rematches. They need character-driven stories and conflicts, not generic BS that just has them having the same match every week.

I agree. WWE is severly lacking stories with substance right now. It's basically "you're heel, I'm face, let's wrestle together".
I don't know exactly how they can fix it, but wrestling over and over isn't the answer.

You have a champion and a challenger. Both are phenominal wrestlers. This could be a classic series.

Actually wasn't a fan of the best of 7 series matches. The 2 out of 3 falls was a treat and I'm happy to see Ziggler apart of Team Cena. I think they are currently using him well. With that being said, they could have basically called AJ vs. Paige a best of 7 series match considering how many times they faced one another.

The best Series of matches I've ever seen was Justin Credible and Jerry Lynn.

A series would be a story. No it wouldn't. It would just be a lazy excuse to have the same Ziggler vs Cesaro matches twice a week for another month. If all the matches they've had over the last month weren't already a classic series, then slapping a "best of 7 lolz" graphic on them won't make them classics either. Until the two of them get some actual character and stories, their matches are just pointless filler. Hopefully, Ziggler's inclusion in the Survivor Series main event picture means he is going to get some character and story development now.

With all the rematches now, aren't most feuds a best of seven?

I actually like what Ziggler is doing right now. It looks good for him to oppose the Authority and gets the fans behind him. Plus, getting Rollins and Ziggler in the same ring is going to make the match better. There is one major angle in WWE right now and Ziggler is apart of it and still wearing the IC strap. I have zero to complain about with Ziggler.
I could watch Ambrose vs Rollins go best of 7 but that feud runs deeper than that already. I think it could work for two lower card guys, Gabriel and Kidd come to mind. It also could be a good way to launch Sami Zayn, which could involve Cesaro and a one-up story. I'm not against the idea with the right two guys who have nothing to do but definitely not with Ziggler.

No. It shouldn't happen.
People complain enough and rightfully so, that guys wrestle each other too many times week after week.
Now having to see Cesaro and Ziggler wrestle for 7 weeks straight admist all the over repeat matches is overkill. It's not the right time for something like this.
