No way in hell the Elite line goes to 8 figures. There'd be no way the budget could handle that constantly in my opinion. We'd be getting like 4 elite lines a year. You're not understanding how budgets work. The budgets are decided by the projected income. If Mattel could sell 8 figures instead of 6 every two months, the budget for an elite series would increase accordingly. I understand how budgets work, I don't think you understand why the majority of people are not going to buy 8 figures every 1-2 months. At the price it is now do you think that parents are going to go out and buy 8 new figures every month? Most don't buy the 6 that come out in each line now. So if Mattel does put out 8 figures in an elite line, that means they're making even more extra that arent going to be bought by parents or collectors can't afford. Trust me I would love to see 8 figures in a line, gives us more choice. Mattel would be losing out on a ton of money though, both on profit and for adding new budget for creating 2 extra figures that arent going to be bought by most. And therein lies the problem, the projected outcome would never be that high, otherwise why am I seeing Elite Henry's, Cena's and Sheamus's clog my shelves?

It will make the line flop because people just can't/won't support that increase. But your initial post was a misunderstanding of how budgeting the figures works. It's the budgeting of the consumer that will kill it.

It just seems inevitable that we are going to get more Flashbacks because the current roster of WWE keeps shrinking with all the budget cuts and the new guys they bring up take time to get out or some maybe Mattel doesnt want to do as a Elite. This is kinda why I think we are seeing more basic flashbacks is because Mattel just doesnt have anybody else to put in those slots!

Maybe they could do four Amazon exclusive Flashbacks a year around the $15 Mankind mark... Elite articulation, very little (possibly zero) by way of accessories, basic packaging -- I know Mankind was that way because he was produced for the mailaway promotion, but considering the apparent success he's having on Amazon, this route could work. Barry Windham would be one of those guys that could get away with no accessory. Though he'd have way less appeal than Mankind.

Id buy any of those, the rest I think are a stretch. I mean Justin Hawk Bradshaw? Really? lol there are a lot of JBL marks on the internet these days so it might be viable. I know I'm in the minority on this, but Justin Hawk Bradshaw was my absolute favorite gimmick JBL ever portrayed in his entire career.

Or even to release an increased amount of Elite Flashbacks at retail. Seriously, half the accessories I buy end up being thrown in a plastic ziplock bag. And the packaging goes straight in the garbage. Of course, the MOC collectors wouldn't be happy. But for those wrestlers who aren't as high up on the totem pole as your Hogans and Stings, that would be a great way to release them.

As great as it may be, I highly doubt we will see any significant change to how Flashback are released. If I had to guess we might see a few more here and there but nothing earth shattering. I hope I'm wrong though.

Hopefully "expanding the Flasbacks" also means stop short packing them!!! I have yet to see Flashbacks shelf warming like Mark Henry, Swagger, and the HHH Tru Exclusive. Whoever thought that having cases of one guy on the shelves like the HHH TRU Exclusive or the 21-0 TRU Exclusive Undertaker last year should be cuffed upside the head! Where is there a 21-0 Taker?

In Canadian TRU stores there were literally 3 cases, 24 of these figures warming shelves forever. This year it's HHH sitting forever (8 left over from the 2 cases that were out.

And if it exists, I must own it!

I'd love to get a minimum of 2 Flashbacks per Elite wave. Ideally, we'd get less re-treads of past releases and more debut figures all around. If we can't have debuts, at least wait until past guys have new looks or gimmicks. Say, for instance, a few months down the road, maybe a series of something like:
JYD Doink Flashback Y2J Stardust Adam Rose
You couldn't keep that set on the shelves. That said, I'm willing to bet that this just means that we'll be getting more Elite-style Flashbacks thanks to the return of DM.

I would just be happy if we could get tag teams released in the same series all the time. I wish they would have released the New Age Outlaws like they are going to do with LOD. I hope it will be a normal trend from now on.

Although all of the ones with the RIP PB tights are that, really. Keep the line at 6 figures. 4 current 2 flashback every series with maybe 2-4 times a year they do 4 flashback and 2 current. 4 times a year would be more than half the sets. Never gonna happen.
