I've been watching clips from Jim Cornette's various shoots and it seems like he's got a strong opinion on everything. He's quick to point fingers at people he doesn't like and seems like he has a good mind for the business.
Very simply, I want to know from you guys what your opinions on Jim Cornette are. Is he a mad scientist of wrestling behind the scenes or is he just out of his mind?

A little bit of both lol. I love Cornette and all the shoots I've seen of his that are available on youtube are awesome.

I think he has a great mind for the business.... the business being 1985 - 1995.
He rambles a lot in his shoots, and puts blame onto Vince Russo a lot for so many things, which aren't always Russo's fault. Russo never ran his own wrestling promotion, he worked for people. So clearly, it's also McMahon's, Turner's and Jarrett's fault too if anything Russo did that Cornette didn't like.
He doesn't work for today's wrestling. He wanted to make ROH like Ring Of Smoky Mountain, and that was when ratings dropped big time for that federation.
Cornette needs to stay away from the wrestling business now, and do his random shoot interviews where his diehard fans will buy them and listen to what he has to say (which is probably the same damn thing he has said in every shoot interview before that he's ever done).
The only cool thing I can remember about Jim Cornette for shoot interviews was the stuff he did with Bobby Heenan, where they walked around Jim's attic and saw all the wrestling memorabilia that he's collected over the years.

Cornette for a shoot interview is great, and extremely entertaining. The guy does for the most part have a great mind for the business too.
He definitely needs to drop some of his grudges and calm down a little though.

One of the greatest managers in all of wrestling history. Also one of the most bitter. His heart has to have tremendous stress on it from him being so angry all the time.

Great mind for the business, but is also stuck in the past with how things should run.

the man's passion is pro wrestling, and he had to watch it be desecrated and publicly humiliated time and time again - of course he's going to be rattled over it. should he cool out about it after all these years? certainly, but if you watch his shoots, he talks about how he has. he keeps his distance - he doesn't watch wwe or tna. but this is just what people want to see from cornette, so they keep asking him the same russo questions to rile him up.
i personally think the guy is a great wrestling mind but that it just means far too much to him, which is hardly that negative of a trait. i think he's a lot like the polar opposite of russo - just as people say about russo, with a filter on his ideas, cornette could be fantastic. but if you let him have his way we'd still be in the jim crockett days.

Since Russo is a total sh*tbird pissant he can say whatever he wants about him with me.
LOVE Cornette and listening to his shoots is just a great way to spend some time. Cornette on WWF 1997 is required viewing for everyone. I wish KFC would get off their ass and get 96 and 98 done with him.

I feel like Cornette is a great token of a period of time in wrestling, and a valuable one at that to still be living and having the wherewithal to speak his mind, good, bad, or ugly on the subjects. He was a major player in the industry at one point, and while he may be out of touch with today's product, when he touches on his own time and experience, you're in for one hell of a ride and story.

you're in good hands, unless your name is Vince Russo I don't think he's too fond of Kevin Dunn either. Personally I love the guy (Cornette, not Dunn).

Yeah he has got a beef with Dunn. he was also one of the first to confirm the fact that Dunn has HUGE say and power backstage.
If Dunn doesn't like something? Vince wont do it.
