I buy "First time in the Line" figures. If it's elite or basics, as long as it's a new figure I get it.

Elites for me always. I get the old Skool basics, hitman, warrior perfect etc. and I will get the divas as well, but I much prefer the elites to basics, and consider myself an "elite collector".

I will ever buy ELITES! Because, they are better to animate....lol. Basics are to play with hands (just my opinion). I really like Elites more but also the basics have a good paint job, nice designs!

I've passed up so many good basics for having the mindset of elites only. Now if I see a basic I like, I'll buy it but won't open it since it lacks the articulation or used for custom parts. Elites all the way though.

I only buy Elites. Basics are a waste of money, IMO. Yeah, they are cheaper to collect but for pure looks and playability, they are garbage. I guess for little kids they are great and I doubt a six year old cares that much about articulation (hell, I didn't when I was six). Other than that, if you collect basics, more power to you, but Elites are the only line that exist to me.
The only way I'd buy a basic is for divas. I wish Mattel had elite divas with better torso articulation and accurate body types.

The only time I bought a basic > elite was when Basic 23 Kane was announced and Elite 19 wasn't yet. I wanted that new attire as soon as possible. Other than that, no, though I'm considering the new purple glove taker basic > Elite 23.

Depends on whether or not the Elites are coming out fairly close to the basics. Take the Wyatts for example. I knew the Elite Bray was coming out fairly close to the Basic so I figured if wait for the Elite. I didn't know about the Elite Rowan and Harper when I ordered the basics.

Elites all the way! Unless I need a couple parts off the basic. Only basics I'll consider are suited ones (including Zeb), and divas

I'm sorry but "holding out for the elites " is just wrong IMO. Especially when people say that before pics come out. I personally like to have an elite and a basic of each guy they put out. And slot of the time the basics look BETTER than the elite. How did ppl feel after they waited on elites like tensai and Ambrose ? When their initial basics turned out way better. All so some people will never get elites. Like Riley, Hawkins, Masters, Shelton, Otunga, Baretta, Hurricane, Knox, etc. So have fun waiting a DAMN long time "holding out for the elites" of those figs.

I usually wait for the Elites. The only Basics I usually get are of the superstars and divas that don't seem like they are getting an Elite any time soon. I would say that is usually for Divas and Managers/Non-Wrestlers. I have Basics of Zeb Colter, Tamina Snuka, Maryse, Kaitlyn, Mickie James, Eve Torres, and, mainly because it was cheaper then getting the Elite, Paul Heyman.

It really depends on the wrestler and what they come with as an elite. Like, I'd rather have the elites of those I'm bigger fans of, especially if they come with a title or a cool accessory, such as the Wyatt Family, like you can't get those without the chair, lantern, etc, etc. But if it's someone who I'd enjoy adding to the collection, but don't really care too much about, or ones that probably won't get an elite, I'll pick up a basic. Really all depends on who I see in stores.

I can't see myself waiting and holding out hope for an Elite without a prototype, because then you end up in those situations where Tensai and Swagger, despite less articulation, are far better than their Elite releases. I like both lines, and they both have their ups and downs, but basics come out so frequently, are more up to date, and have characters that I wouldn't want to miss out on since Elites only have anywhere from 2-5 modern slots per wave.
