Has anyone ever noticed that alot of the Mattel heads have these scratches/lines in the actual plastic mold?
I can't stand the way they look, but the molds definitely have imperfections or are getting scratches along the way.
I just want to see if anyone else hear knows what i'm talking about and has had a problem with this themselves?

I'm surrounded by Mattel figures and have no clue what you're talking about.

I know exactly what youre talking about but its usually so unnoticeable it doesn't bother me....usually basics are the ones that suffer from this....
He's talking about depression lines in the molded plastic....if you look real close on some figs you can see hair size lines in the plastic...

I've seen it in other toy lines like Toy biz's Marvel Legends and Hasbro's SW/GI Joe lines. But honestly I've not seen it in Mattel's WWE lines.

I saw a Billy Gunn the other day and it looked like somebody pushed a thumbtack into the tip of his nose.

I know what you are talking about. There is a hairline swirl indented in my Billy gun near the eyebrow. Only noticeable from a few angles.
I think it's safe to assume it is from the color shooting process and an unfortunate and unavoidable error in manufacturing. I only have a few figures with it, because generally I take great effort to pick the best paint apps on my figures. The ones that I have that have the issue are figures that were rare or I reasonably figured I wouldn't see them again.
Something else that bugs me, and I don't know exactly where in the manufacturing process it occurs, is the inordinate number of black marks and scuffs that I always have to scrape off. Luckily they do scrape off, usually with the blunt of my fingernail.
Also, battle packs 25 Heyman all seemed to have an issue with cutting the coat from the mold. I picked the least damaged one and it still has a divot carved out of it and has white stress marks around it.

Tbh, I think its from all the recycled plastic they keep using. It's WAY more noticeable on the black plastic ( like WMH Undertaker legs, all elite SHIELD members) and on some brown plastic (PTP).

I've seen it on some basics, but that's it.

Not just the heads. Arms, bodies, etc too. Big scratches and cracks on 'em.
