Just got a roku 3. Signed up for a free trial of Hulu Plus and I can't get through a single show without getting a "playback error". I've read that a lot of people have had this happen on the PS3, some with older roku models and even some with the same model I have. Have any of you experienced this or know a way to get it to work properly?
I've done all the proposed fixes such as restarting the device, restarting the modem, router etc. None of that worked. From what I can gather, hulu has rarely (if at all)addressed any of these problems. This is my first experience with hulu but I had no idea that they kind of ignored a lot of problems with their service.
Oh well, thankfully it's only a free trial. If I can't get it to work properly within the next week, no harm, no foul. I just won't keep the service.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Have you tried running any other apps on the device? Hulu was very spotty for me at best when I used their service. Every time I used it on a different device i'd get different results. My xbox could never stream in HD mode, my Roku 3 stopped playing a few shows mid episode and failed to reload, and my Apple TV load time would take forever. Every other app I used worked perfectly on those devices. Ex - Amazon Instant Video on Xbox, Itunes on Apple TV, and Netflix on Roku. I think its just Hulu to be honest :/

Yeah it's probably just the service. Everything else on the device works without issue. It's such a shame that they have done nothing to fix these issues. I can't imagine I'll keep the service after the trial period if there's no way to get it to work properly.
