(NYSE: WWE) has announced that Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Jr. has stepped down as its Chairman and Owner, effective immediately. The World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. is proud to announce that Shane Brandon McMahon - son of Vincent Kennedy McMahon, Jr. - has been named successor, per the result of last night's Survivor Series Pay-Per-View event. In a bold and unprecedented move that is sure to rock the Sports Entertainment industry, Shane McMahon, 37, will discontinue the World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. brand effective on November 20, 2007 at 12:00 AM (EST). The World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. will host its final broadcast later this evening (Nov. 19, 2007) LIVE from Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, New York City, New York. “Tonight will be a very bitter-sweet celebration of the World Wrestling Entertainment,” said Shane McMahon. "I look forward to celebrating its rich and glorious history before we say goodbye forever." Vince McMahon declined to comment. A 3:00 PM (EST) press conference has been called from Madison Square Garden. Shane McMahon is expected to provide further details for the final broadcast. In a separate press release, Shane McMahon announced the beginning of new professional wrestling company: Intense Championship Wrestling, Inc. (ICW).
