Hey yall, some of you may remember back in 2011 I showed pics of some TNA belts I customised. Well those were good at the time, but now those are outdated and have been replaced. So last time I used vinyl, which cuts well but is too thick, not light enough. I also painted the titles 100%. Well this time I've used a premium leather (which has a great thickness and weight to it) and only painted the non-gold parts. I sealed with satin spray to take the shine off of the plastic, it really gives them a realistic look. Plus I've stitched the edges to re-create the 'tooling' from the real belts and to make them similar to the 1/500's. Now for this first belt, I have not painted it at all, I got it with my Austin Aries already painted. All the rest were hand-painted by me. Here are the originals (top) compare to new versions: Just fyi, the original belts are for sale, as I have no need for them. If you're interested, pm me!So there you have it. Let me know what you guys think!

Well man, this is the way to make a better belt than Mattel. I love what you did with the stitching, I just wish the edges of the red belt came out better. While I think the new ones look leaps and bounds better than your first runs, I honestly feel that top world title in the bottom picture (assuming it was your first world title) is the strongest one of the bunch. You were On when you made that one.

I also wish the red edges were better, but the material was harder to work with (both times), and unfortunately have none left. I've learnt to live with it. I was dead pleased with how the older World title came out, definitely thought it was my best piece to date. But I also love my newer one too much. Cheers for the kind words guys!

I think the reason the old one looks better is the Contrast between the gold and silver. The new one its like the gold isn't gold enough to stand out?

The base colours also have an impact on the silver. I found everytime I painted the silver on the painted gold, it shined a little blue as well. I like the fact my belts each have their own merits and they both still look good.

Black is the best base coat for gold and silver. If you're pray painting something gold, if you spray a gloss black first the glod will have a lot better shine and tint to it. All paint is translucent in the end. Black base coat can also be used to bring out more vibrant colors. It actually works way better than a white base coat.

Indeed. Found that out by trial and error back in 2011 when I made them. Great piece of knowledge to have.
