2FW Presents: Battle of New York City, live from the Hammerstein Ballroom! From August 9th to the 11th, 2FW will present a tournament in which the winner is presented with a title shot of their choosing. International stars will also be present and participate in the tournament. In Addition to this tournament, the junior-heavyweight and tag team titles will be defended on day 3. Let's get to the participants.
Facade
Facade is very steadily climbing up the ranks in the independent wrestling scene. His agility is great and his gimmick is quite different, this is a guy who will flip from anywhere and you will never see it coming. It would be a hell of a surprise to see Facade win the tournament.
Franky The Mobster
Now here is a guy who is incredibly frightening. Forget Brock Lesnar, Franky is a guy who would literally rip Lesnar's head off, toss it in the Hudson river, and sleep with mama Lesnar (seriously, he would do it.) The crazed Canadian has a very impressive physic, and can cut a promo so outrageous that it actually becomes comical while Franky remains in a serious tone. Franky The Mobster winning BONYC? Yeah, definite possibility.
Sonjay Dutt
Sonjay Dutt is incredibly underrated. He's a fast paced high flyer from India who was never really given the chance and could always deserve better. Dutt winning the tournament is for surely a high expectation.
Jinsei Shinzaki
The man formally known as "Hakushi" returns to the states for a once in a lifetime chance at a possibility of gaining some championship gold. With his innovative top rope walking and multiple kick variations, its pretty hard to see Shinzaki not winning the tournament.
Steve Corino
What is there to say about the King of Old School that hasn't been said already? Well after the last pay-per-view, things got pretty tense between him and the "Japanese Juggalo Sensation" Nosawa. The King of Old School can surely take this tournament in an instant, but the question remains, will Nosawa and Corino even cross paths?
Ronin
Not known by many fans outside the Pro Wrestling Guerrilla circle, Ronin can be considered the new master of elbow attacks. With a very unique arsenal of moves, Ronin can surely take the tournament.
Quicksilver
Another PWG standout, Quicksilver is what some may consider a "New Aged High Flyer" which means he isn't a very fancy high flyer, But he is a good athlete none the less.
Nosawa
The highly underrated "Japanese Juggalo Sensation" is rarely mentioned outside the realm of fans of Insane Clown Posse and Juggalo Championship Wrestling. He's had acouple other matches outside of JCW before but none are really standouts. The possibility of him and Corino crossing paths is still very high through out the weekend, but let's see if Nosawa can take the tourny.
