So I'm new to the board and to the wrestler collecting scene, do you guys usually try to hunt for elites in the wild or just reserved them through ringside? I really like the new E23 Undertaker and Machoman but their prices are kinda high. I bought the RSC Stone Cold and am happy with it but if these guys show up regularly at the brick and mortars should I just wait? Thanks

Welcome to the boards. We all have different habits. Me personally, I never normally pre-order because everything is quite easy to find in the UK (except the US store exclusive stuff that doesn't come out here)... But I am thinking of pre-ordering elite 23 because it's a great set and I want it asap, and the retail prices in the UK are almost as bad as online prices now... Worse in some cases.

Depends on what you like. It's worth the extra money to order through RSC to get it early and guarantee you get what you want. But, there's a thrill to the hunt and finding what you want in the stores. Those who contribute on the Figure Findings board do a pretty good job of giving you a heads up to what they're finding in your area: wfigs.proboards.com/board/18/figure-findings-store-reports

I stick with trades and retail since I personally refuse to feed scalpers my money and I don't pay scalper prices.

Online is the only option for me. Usually wait till I can put in a large order to save on postage.

Welcome. Overall I say it depends on what's around you. Some members have very little options for figures so online is best. I have at least 15 stores about 1/2 hour away, and more if I do a road trip. What's around you and how often do they seem to get new items? Are there a lot of collectors and or scalpers?
Also take into account the markup ringside does plus shipping. My wallet prefers retail.

Welcome. As for collecting I preorder the figures I want most and then pick up the rest at retail.

I pre-order the ones I really want (past few sets, this has meant E21 AJ, E23 JBL & Cesaro, and E24 Trish) and then look in stores. I had an entire set of E22 pre-ordered but unfortunately, some unexpected expenses came up and I had to cancel it so now I'm hot on the trail of Tensai & Sandow.

I only do retail, except for exclusives and figures I'm pretty certain I'll never find in stores.

I've seen every elite multiple times in stores but I still preorder select figures, usually flashbacks. I bought E22 Tensai and Sandow through RSC but I didn't want to spend extra on the Rock. Now I'm driving everywhere looking for him.

If you can afford it with no problems, you can buy from RSC and other online places.
If you have patience and a car, just wait for retail.

I definitely like ordering on RSC! On exclusives, I usually wait until there are cases of Elites I want and when RSC has sales going on. I know I don't get them the earliest, I find it's the most cost saving method. I, also, try to find them on eBay. Sometimes, it makes sense. Like, I ordered 3 elite 22 MOC from the same store. With shipping factored in, each figure cost $21. That's not bad, considering I wouldn't have to go hunting.

I haven't seen an Elite figure in a long long time in store so I just buy off RSC, so much easier.

If you have no problems finding stuff in stock at local stores and don't mind waiting a little longer, then hunting at stores is cheaper. The selection near me redefines the word "suck" so I have to order almost everything I get on-line. RSC isn't that bad if you wait to order a bunch of stuff to save on shipping and use the wfigs discount code.

I buy the guys I really want or are hard to find online. The other guys I wait for retail. this. I tend to order all the Flashbacks and Basic Heritage Flashbacks online, just cause they're usually harder to find, due to being the first to go,and in the Elite FB's case, usually only 1 per case or 1 per every other case. the modern guys i usually find at retail eventually.
