I was just thinking about the initial Punk promo in June '11 that sparked the summer of Punk. In it he said he was "A Paul Heyman guy, just like Brock Lesnar was a Paul Heyman guy".
After the promo, which also name-dropped Colt Cabana, the dirt sheets said the reason for all these guys being mentioned in the promo was because they were all going to be used by the WWE in new deals. They said don't be surprised for Lesnar and Heyman to be brought back to the WWE because of this, since they had reached new deals.
Long story short, it sounded pretty far-fetched, and many including myself thought the reporters were making up rumours like they usually do, and are wrong 80% of the time.
Well fast-forward to the day after WM 28 and we see Lesnar return. It was reported he signed a new deal in Dec' 11 after he agreed to do the WWE '12 game. Then a few weeks later Heyman shows up as well.
My question is this: Do you guys believe the wrestling reporters were spot-on or were dead lucky in their report coming true?

Lucky. Lesnar last fought for the UFC on December 30th 2011 - so it's very unlikely he had anything other than a DVD/game deal with the WWE up until that point.

Punk brought up those guys because he wanted to, not because WWE wanted him to. Paul was his biggest WWE supporter. Lesnar was Heyman's other guy. Cabana is Punk's best friend. Pretty cut and dry.

Allegedly, Brock called Paul Heyman and asked him to make a deal with WWE to be his advisor. Main reason being, Brock had to do a live promo and apparently he really doesn't like doing that so he wanted Paul back to do all his talking.
Once Paul was signed, it seemed logical to put him with CM Punk whenever Brock wasn't on TV.
This is based off an internet wrestling news site so take it all with a grain of salt.

I watched an interview from this week with Heyman and be specifically mentioned the first part about Lesnar on the mic, so I would say its true. As for the rest, it seems logical.

I really do like Heyman pulling double duty. It's been fun.
