My local TRU, which use to be great in terms of getting new figs/products quickly, is now like most others-which seemingly never has much for avid collectors....for example, my TRU has yet to get the BAF which has the Teddy Long. Usually, this would frustrate me to no end, especially since last week was the BOGO 50% off sale.
Last Saturday, I hit the road to the beach as this week is Spring Break for me.....this is cool as I usually hit 2 other TRU which I never get to go to that often. In both stores, I did fid the sale and there were plenty of figures....however I really didn't want the figures (as I have all of their Elite counterparts) and I really have never cared for Teddy Long-he was a referee, manager and GM-but he can't really talk well-isn't that cool or entertaining and I didn't particularly like his BAF fig either......so I held on to my money.
When I got to the beach, I hit a local KMart and found these on sale:
I have gone back and forth on the Entrance Stage, on whether to get it or not, pretty much due to the fact I have no where to put it. Anyway...it was on sale for about one dollar less than I would have paid for the 4 basic BAF figs on sale at TRU. I also had a local $5 off a KMart purchase over $25, so I got the Entrance Stage for $35. The basic Jericho was on sale for $6.99 (I have no clue as to why) but that is what it rang up for.
So for about $42 (plus tax), I picked up these 2 items....now I will spend tomorrow trying to find a place for them and figuring out how to replace that Cena photo on the screen.
-Peace out, -Wagdaddy

Good deal bro! The stage is definitely cool and really has a way of making a fig arena look more pro and tied together. I dig that Jericho alot too, very cool attire, but I think I'm gonna try to hold out til I find E20 Jericho. If I never find at retail I'll just wait til the next basic Jericho. Have fun with your new gets

not going to pay $40+ for a figure that isn't that great to begin with based on a guy that belongs more in 'Sanford & Son' than the WWE.

For the record, 'Sanford & Son' was my favorite 70's TV show....I own the entire series on DVD. It was Richard Pryor's first Hollywood writing gig and it made Redd Foxx a superstar. Now that I think about it.....Teddy Long isn't entertaining enough to have been a part of the show-so it appears I was wrong about that.....however IF anyone equates my comments with racism-then it more so shows their ignorance of what funny (Sanford & Son), wrestling and South Carolina are really all about.
In the words of Sgt. Hulka (Stripes)..."Lighten Up Francis".not going to pay $40+ for a figure that isn't that great to begin with based on a guy that belongs more in 'Sanford & Son' than the WWE. Racism is strong in South Carolina huh
