Probably just a bad batch. I bought mine off eBay and one thing I was worried about was getting it in and it having a bad painted Mask. Luckily, mine was alright.

I haven't come across that set yet, but I've seen some horribly painted masks on his previous Elites. It was either paint smearing or the silver part over the eyes being misaligned.

I have 3 of them and the paint on all is good. The only problem I have with 2 of them is the top of the earpiece is bent.

I think it's about 50/50. Every Sin Cara I've seen, in any elite series, had a sub-standard paint job. I've also read tons of reports where he is fine. So, like I said, it seems to be about 50/50.

I picked up this fig when the Johnny wave hit a little bit before Christmas. My TRU had 3 of them and the paint blems were ridiculous. I picked the one that was the best.

I don't have mine in front of me but I don't remember anything noticeably bad.

I have probably seen more Sin Cara figures (not just BOPPV) that have a really sloppy paintjob on the mask than I've seen ones that have acceptable-to-good paintjobs. the silver part over the eyes being misaligned. This seems to be the most common problem with them. I've passed on so many Sin Cara figures just looking for one that doesn't have a wonky, uneven looking mask, all thanks to that blasted silver part.

I've only seen one, I picked it up and the paint app is perfect!

I would be inclined to agree. That said, wow, 50% botched is a terrible ratio. And it's to the point where at least 50% of all Elites coming out these days are awful. Basics have fared better, so it sucks that the expensive ones rarely look as good. I get it, it's corner cutting to make the expensive product less expensive to produce, and in turn keep pocketing maximum profit and not alter the pricepoint, it just sucks is all.

My BOPPV Sin Cara is a tidbit sloppy on the head, but nothing major.
This is one thing I ALWAYS worry about when ordering figures off the internet. And that's one bad thing about Mattel; their painting is sometimes sloppy. And when you're paying a pretty penny, these can be major problems.
