I figured I would ask since I see a $100 pre-order up on Evilbay for Ryback's Elite 21 figure, does anybody else have a harder time finding basic figures than Elites?
I would never ever pay $100 for a figure that isn't going to be that difficult to track down. Sure, he'll be popular like Brock Lesnar, but even Lesnar I've seen about a dozen times. Stores stock the sh-- out Elites, even in the summertime when there is the action figure drought. Basics on the other hand? Not so much. There have been about a half dozen basics I never found at retail and had to go online for versus the 1 Elite I didn't find, which was Kevin Nash, a legitimately short-packed figure. And at least another half-dozen basics took longer than 6 months after being at retail to be found.
Elite series also never get skipped (well, sometimes by TRU, but never by all the stores.) Meanwhile, basic 14 was completely jumped at retail around here, until one puny case was set out at only one K-mart in the area 7 months after it was intially released, and after basic 17 and 18 were showing up.

No. My area is basic heaven. Good and bad at times.

I agree, since I only just started collecting, I'm finding it much harder to find early series basics at a reasonable price compared to early series elites

Is there a pic of this said Elite Ryback? Nope, it's a US seller, not a Singapore one . This guy is selling a preorder, and he's using B27 as the pic.

It is the opposite for me. I usually find all the basics (minus the Divas) pretty easily, while I usually only see a case or two of most Elite wage. Just yesterday I picked up a Ryback and Cesaro B27 but have yet so see an Elite 19 Kane in store and saw Liz and Brock once.
I never saw any Elite 13 or 14. I saw 1 case of Elite 15 at one store, one time. Never did see E16 Diesel, Punk, Slater, E17 Kelly Kelly or E18 Lawler. Collecting Elites in my area has become futile.

Same here. Basics are pretty easy to find, but I have to hit probably ten stores before I might find one current elite figure.

When Elites are stuck on shelves i always have an easy time finding new stuff, Basics usually linger longer though so i don't get them restocked as much.

Unfortunately no. Stores around me always get the new basics and most of the time I see all of them. But I'm an elite collector and those are a b*tch to find.

Elites are much easier to find for me. I don't have much faith in finding Basics.
The OP also does not live far from me.

Idk. Every store I ever hit is LOADED with basics and not enough elites. Maybe on a rare occasion i'll pop in the store on the day they're stocking their shelves, and the elites will be stocked full then but they don't last long. With in a couple days they're all picked through and down to the shelf warmers, but even when the elites are stocked full the basics over shadow them. I have an easier time finding any basics or battle packs that I want over elites. Mattel should just kill the basic style figure off and do elites only!

The Walmart in my town consistently gets plenty of elites, although I think I just missed Liz. BPs seem to be the most scarce Mattel in my area.

basics? plenty. Elites are tough to come by this way recently. Well the ones that are wanted. I can find you a Daniel Bryan or Dolph Ziggler tomorrow if you'd pay $35 plus shipping for it LOL

I know as far as I'm concerned, the Elites are way easier to find then the basics.

True, with basics at times I dont even see a whole set. But with Elites I always see at least one or two in a set.

If you read that eBay listing its for 4 figures not just ryback. Learn how to read descriptions.

If you read that eBay listing its for 4 figures not just ryback. Learn how to read descriptions. I read that too quick and remember when Kevin Nash was selling by himself for $150. I guess I'll have to re-learn how to read but seeing how old I am it'll be tough. I guess killing myself is the only option so as to not offend some petulant child on a forum.

I have a Walmart, Kmart, target, and toys r us all within 3 miles of each other if there is a mass retail figure like basics and elite (not talking store exclusives) I can normally find them in one trip. I have legitimately seen every figure from elite 1- 20 (yes that includes the Elite 1 Jeff Hardy only one I've never seen is Elite 16 Nash) every battle pack/ 2pk and every basic 1-27 in stores on pegs.
