I'm not going to lie-sometimes, I play with the action figures, and have some good simulations. However, I have only played with Jakks- I just got my first two Mattel figures(Basic Brock Lesnar & Sheamus). I haven't tried them out yet, as I fear they might break a leg or have an ankle come off due to some posts saying they are easily breakable.
So what are your opinions, are they safe to play with? Are they super fragile?
(By the way, I don't play like an 8 year old, just mindlessly throwing the figure, and doing combos in mid-air as if I was watching Dragon Ball Z, I try and be careful with figures. I do connect with punches and kicks, but try and be cautious so they don't get marks or break something.)

Elites are better for play. Basics are alright for it, but Elites are less complicated playwise.
Mattel's are sturdier if you aren't yanking 'em around.

If you are gentle they will be fine. Don't try to over extend the legs or arms if they don't wanna go and you will be fine.

I haven't had anything break on my figures yet either and I use them for animations. I think you're fine.

Their not fragile, they are durable but hard playing can cause scuffs or paint loss

Trust me they put together the Mattels better than Jakks |

From my experience areas that are prone to breaking are stuck wrists and the ball on the hip joint. A dip in hot water should loosen them up and the latter problem has been fixed in many of the newer Elite figs.
The shoulders on the divas figures are hard to move and in turn the biceps always feel like they'll pop off.
Otherwise, they're pretty durable.

The pegs are much, MUCH thicker than Jakks's. The only way to snap a hip or shoulder off is if you reeeally worked at it.

I feel like the elite are kinda fragile. I've never broken any because I'm afraid to really play with them because the ankles get really loose if you move them from their set position, and the leg/hip joint seems like it could snap if you force it too hard.
The Basics are obviously more sturdy than the Elites because the lack of articulation in the Basics leaves less places the figure could become loose or break.

I have bought over a 100 elites/legends for my kid and he hasn't broken any yet and plays with them pretty rough.
However, I read stories on here about them snapping all the time, and even being broken as soon as they are removed from the package.
Any with the stuck joints I heat in water.

Details on knee pads is the worst thing that's happened to my figures and I play almost every day.

Sometimes they may have an extremely loose hand that can come off if you move it too much
