Updated a couple posts down..
Today I welcome to the Enderson family a few new wrestling dolls while posting a couple pictures and typing a lot out of Saturday morning boredom.
I haven't gotten a figure since I purchased Hunico out of impulse just because it was different than the disgusting, overpacked glut of Rey/Cena/Orton/Big Show/Sheamus/Alberto figures that I usually find.
Yesterday my mom went to Walmart and picked me up the two entrance figures I wanted.. Triple H and Dolph Ziggler. Don't worry, I paid her for them, since I'm a totally responsible adult. Even though I have my mommy hunt toys for me.
I remember when Mattel first started that molded basics with shirts were like, taboo. We didn't want 'em and mattel said they weren't making 'em. Honestly I'm extremely happy that they made this set, because it provides us a new kind of figure and helps immortalize some awesome t-shirt designs that we'd never get to see otherwise (Punk's gray shirt, for example.)
I absolutely love Dolph's pink-based Show Off attires. I even pre-ordered his pink shirt about a year ago (too bad I lost 40 pounds since then and it's now about 2 sizes too big lol). I need to find Elite 19 and I think I'll be set for Dolphs forever. I think
This is my first Mattel Triple H. I never cared enough about him to upgrade from Jakks, and I never loved the supper-duper ripped torso matty always used for him. The scan's good, though, and it is a pretty special figure that i thought would be nice to have. I actually liked collecting different t-shirted figures back in the jakks era, and I hope they make some more of these down the road.
Another thing I love about this line of figures is the torso size... Triple H is a lot bulkier than Dolph, like it should be; It's not like the Jakks days where EVERYONE (even John Cena and his baggy football jersies) was wearing a t-shirt that slimmed them down to cruiserweight size.
This morning I went to my 'main' Walmart and was extremely surprised to find some new figures. I initially lit up when I saw the latest basic Ryder (decided to pass on him since the attire was kind if 'meh' and I have four figures of him), but was disappointed that they didn't have AJ. They had full pegs of the entrance figures except Truth, as well as one HHH/Lesnar that I probably would've bought if I didn't already get a HHH yesterday. I'll wait for a single or the elite Lesnar.
But also in the two packs this morning..
I finally found him.
The third DudeBuster.
Curt Hawkins.
Oh, and that Brodus guy, too, he's pretty alright. Actually a great figure in terms of color choice and head scan. I didn't care enough to drop $20 on his Elite the couple times I saw it, but I'll gladly keep both this one and my Bo2012.
When it come to Hawkins, I like the scan and I like the painting. Great pack, and I'm glad to find it. It's not as perfect as Mike McGillicutty, but it's not as terrible as Trent's figure. really glad that we actually got a jobber like Hawkins... I really like the jobber-and-great seller-in-a-Battle Pack idea that they've been doing. I hope we get more of them down the line in order to see updated guys like Gabriel or Kidd (throw either of them with Cesaro and see what happens.)
ASSORTED PICS FOR THE LULZ
FunkBusters and DudeBusters minus Crofty
New HHH compared to old-school 2007-era balloon arms/balloon head/slimfit t-shirt
Show. Off. Still need that E19 and then I'll never need another Dolph again. Unless the one in the Vickie pack is good. Maybe.
Thanks for looking and reading...
