I love how when Lebron first signed w/ Miami, Wade and him claimed they'd win atleast 7 titles. Then after Jordan recently picked Kobe over him because of the number of rings, Lebron claimed rings don't define a career. The guy is a hypocrite and shows he isn't always focused on winning. Granted rings don't always define a career considering the crappy teams some great players have been on and what era they play in (Barkely, Malone, Stockton, Wilkins, Richmond), but rings do define those who are in that upper elite class and who are simply great. True, but Lebron will end up with more than one ring by the time he's retired. Kobe was and still is a great player, but he lacked what all the best players had. The ability to make everyone around you a whole lot better. Kobe again had a good team, even though he pulled through the end he always had someone on his side when he got a ring. Lebron has Wade who is about 3 years past his prime. Bosh who is a little over his prime as well Like I said Kobe will always be below MJ and even Lebron is all said and done. MJ and Lebron have that rare ability to make everyone around them better. Kobe has never had that, and has even admitted that he isn't a great leader. Kobe has been a product of the overhype machine of the NBA, the media, and casual fans. Great player, but not in that small elite class at the very top. As for Lebron w/ Miami, while Wade is not at the top of his game anymore, he is still in it. Bosh is definatly still in his prime and is still one of the better PFs in the game (albit somewhat overrated). But not taking anything away from Lebron because w/out him, the Heat would be fighting for a 5-8 seed in the East right now w/out him. When Lebron is on his game and focused like currently, there are very few chances to beat him. I think currently the Spurs and Pacers are the only teams that could give them a run for their money in the Finals. Maybe the Bulls if Rose was 100%, but obviously that isn't gonna happen this season.

Last year was the first time in Rose's life that he's missed significant time due to injry. High School, College, and his first few years in the NBA were injury free. The problem is the Bulls kept bringing him back early last year while he had a few nagging injuries, and those eventually led to the ACL tear. The Bulls are playing it smart by keeping him out as long as possible, and hopefully he comes back injury free. The guy is the best PG in the game when healthy and it would be a shame to see injuries ruin his prime (which some argue he hasn't even reached yet).

Rose was challenging for best player in the league before the injuries last year. Granted Lebron is Lebron. He is the Bulls offense, and sets it up for others. They had the best record in the league last year, and would have been significant challengers to the Heat.

They had the best record in the league last year, and would have been significant challengers to the Heat. Bulls had the worst luck last year because of the injuries to Rose, Deng tearing a ligamint in his wrist, and Noah and Taj both severly spraining their ankles in the playoffs. Had they been healthy, it would have definatly been another Heat/Bulls ECF. Not saying the Bulls would have won, but w/ Bosh injured and not at 100% and Wade struggling as well, the Bulls would have had a great chance to knock em out. Injuries and bad luck killed that team.

I honestly cannot put the two in the same vein
I still think MJ was a fearless warrior, same with Kobe. Those two are more comparable. They push themselves to the brink of self destruction.
Now, don't get me wrong. Lebron is unnatural. Probably one of the greatest players ever at this point. But I can't shake this feeling that he is playing with fear.

Jordan no doubt. At this point LeBron should only have 1 ring but thanks to the San Antonio Spurs choke job he has 2. In my opinion Jordan did more with less talent, hell if he wouldn't have left to play baseball Hakeem Olajuwon would be in the ringless club with Charles Barkley and Karl Malone. Lol

Lets talk kobe vs mike be4 we discuss MJ vs lbj. Each of LeBron's last five seasons have been better than any of Kobe's. I still think MJ has had a better career than LBJ but I don't think it's case-closed unless LeBron never wins another championship/MVP. Personally, I think LeBron will be considered the best ever when all is said and done.

Kobe is closer to MJ than Lebron right now.

Basically, Kobe has a couple of seasons with much higher scoring but much lower efficiency. Kobe's career arc is more similar to MJ's because he basically copied Jordan's game, but I think LeBron has already had a better career than Kobe.

Here's my theory on why there is a serious age gap in who likes MJ and who likes Lebron.
Everybody wants 'the best basketball player ever' to comes from their generation. If you saw MJ when you were kid, you think he's the best and the same goes for Lebron.
The argument MJ fans make against Lebron is 'Well, you had to see MJ in his prime and the younger generation didn't.' That's fair, but the generation older say guys like Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, Dr. J, and Oscar Robertson were just as good. It's a generational thing.
I myself watched MJ as a child & teenager. I think he's the best, but his stint on the Wizards tarnished his career a tad.
Lebron still has the rest of his career ahead of him. I don't think it's far to compare him to MJ just yet. Get six or seven championships and played another ten years and then we can compare careers.

Lol If the old guys from the Celtics didn't run out of gas in game 7 of the 2012 ECF, Lebron might not even have that one ring. We finally agree on something. Michael Jordan would've won every single championship from 1991-1999 if he didn't retire twice during that span. And MJ would never have lost to a team like the 2011 Dallas Mavericks either.

MJ... Lebron might be more physically gifted, but MJ will always be the better at b-ball. IMO

We need ESPN to do the computer simulation like they did in Rocky Balboa. This way everyone would see Jordan is the better of the two. lol
In all seriousness though Jordan is better.
