Is everyone in the Hall of Fame automatically available to Mattel for a Legends figure? I'd imagine WWE would make everyone who signs on for the Hall of Fame to sign a Legends contract with them.
I'm guessing these contracts only last a set number of years, so some of the older ones are probably expired, but what about more recent guys like Abdullah, Bob Backlund and Trish?

I think Trish Stratus is a done deal, knowing the fact that they will be releasing the womens championship.

They have to be signed to a Legends contract to be able to get a figure made from what Ive been told. Theres rumors of guys like Goldberg turning it down because the money isnt good enough.

Not everyone who has/had a Legends deal is in the HOF...off the top examples include Hillbilly Jim, Kamala (rumored name for the HOF this year tho), Bigelow (another rumored name), the upcoming Honky Tonk Man (been approached, like Goldberg money isn't good enough), and of course Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage. I've heard Bruno Sammartino did an independent deal with Mattel to appear in the WWE line, but nothing's come from that yet.
I've heard that Mattel wasn't interested in Legends contracts at this time, so that could mean either they've hit their max they wanted or are easing off of signing too many and not getting to them and having the contracts basically sit there.
Would love for a basic WM1 Heritage wave for next year, featuring Wendi Richter/Roddy Piper/Tito Santana/Junkyard Dog/Greg Valentine in the lineup. Maybe as a Target exclusive so it wouldn't shelf-warm too bad.

Goldberg turning it down because the money isn't good enough is laughable. It's free money based on what you already did in your career! If its 6 figures, take it! Sign the papers! Yeah Mattel and WWE might make 10 times that from the sales but you literally have to do nothing but go get your face scanned.

The only people they hurt by not doing it is us fans who want the figure. Goldberg is my top want as far as figures go & would probably be the only figure for which I'd pay the super high prices RSC charges. The figures I've bought from them so far were all on sale.

They have sculptors that make heads for dead wrestlers. They can sculpt his face. The only reason I could see not signing is if it prevents him from doing other stuff. Like if he's signed to a legends deal he's not allowed to make certain appearances.

Not necessarily, no. Not even everyone who has a legends deal is, either, because they may have their merchandising contracts separate.
