Why not put the velcro at the side like the plastic one to allow for detail on the back?

Good question!
I assume it's because it'll cost em more to add the extra logos on the back. And that their profit margin would suffer. But I could be wrong.

Just thought of this....
Plus most cloth shirts nowadays has sleeves. It wouldn't look right if the Velcro came down the sides of each sleeve. And if they didn't start the Velcro till after the sleeves, it'd make the shirts harder to put on the figure.
Did I explain that properly at all?

(Stuff like the back of t-shirts.)

Have you noticed there are MORE rubber shirts, then cloth these days? Lets say you do these new shirt you want.. they then have to add logos to the back of someones shirt, that actually COST. Each line gets x dollars to budget. Why change something that is FINE, then to change it, which will cost MORE, then more of the budget goes into detailing on a shirt, which ultimately will take away detail from one specific figure, or the entire set. Does that back shirt logo really mean risking another figure in the set? Does Ortons shirt back design deserve to make... lets say Brock Lesners figure come without a molded shirt? Does it make sense for lets say a Flashback to not come with something iconic so someone can have an extremely detailed shirt? No. Point being, Mattel does a fantastic job with what they do. They are a company, they operate, they have to turn a profit if they want to fight, to live another day in the current world we live in.

It would probably put the production budget over the limit to add details to the back of the shirts along with velcro down the sides. Which would then mean to do it they'd have to have a higher budget for their production cost. And then that would mean retailers would need to be charged more...which would mean we would need to be charged more. Which would then turn into the whole "It costs to much for a figure" threads that are usually posted by the same people who are calling Mattel cheap.

I've had someone alter a shirt to make it open from the side and it looks awful even with the great job done. Just does not work...
