This past Saturday I got together w/ some friends & we did a late Christmas gift exchange. When I opened what my best friend, who is a figure collector also, gave me lo & behold it was E16 Diesel & E17 Mankind. I have searched high & low for Diesel w/ no success. On top of that, On my way home that night I stopped @ Wal-Mart. I was shocked to find an E18 Undertaker on the shelf, especially @ midnight on a Saturday, so I grabbed him up & headed to the register. I am not posting photos since everybody has seen pics of these figs already, but I am going to post a short review.
E16 Diesel- Great figure. All parts except the head & hands are the exact same as the Kevin Nash fig in the same series. In this case that is perfectly acceptable since they are the same guy. The head is good, though the likeness on Nash is a little better. The only major knock I have is the right hand. They should have used a different mold or just painted the glove on an ungloved hand. This is relatively minor & easy to ignore.
E17Mankind-Mattel did really good work on this one, though there are a couple things I don't like. The figure looks good with the mask ON, but stupid if you take it off. So they definitely still need to make a Mick Foley figure. I like the way the elbow joint is done. Not so much the shoulder joint. As far as scale I, personally, see no problems. he seems to be right in line with other figures listed @ the same height.
E18 Undertaker-Practically Perfect. Every time I think Mattel has done the best they can do they get a little better. The only Flaw I found w/ this figure is the lack of an elbow pad on the right arm. Which is so easily fixable it is barely worth mentioning it. I was very impressed by the fact that Mattel seems to have used a lot of new parts instead of just recycling old molds(Pay attention to that Jakks). I believe they even used new molds for the feet.
Overall I was very happy w/ my last haul of 2012! After 3 years I have nothing but praise for the Mattel team in regards to their work on the WWE line. They can't really control how much stores charge for the figures so I don't fault them for that.
