Just wondering:
When Matty was doing Legends, was there ever any intent on doing a Windham figure to go with Arn and Tully? Obviously they chose that era specifically to represent, and with Windham being in the HoF with the other Horsemen, I wonder if he had signed a Legends deal with the WWE and Mattel to have his image updated. Hopefully when the Flair comes down the road they'll do an exclusive Flair/Windham two-pack to complete that lineup of the Four Horsemen (or if the upcoming Flashback wave does well, maybe a Flair/Windham/Luger/Vicious wave devoted to the Four Horsemen?).

Everyone that was in the poll has/was signed to a Legends deal. Assuming none of them have run out, Windham is still signed to a WWE Legends deal and Mattel *could* make him. However, Mattel feels that because the Legends on Matty Collector didnt sell well that the figures that didnt win the votes will sell even worse. Never mind they were asking us to pay $28 (at the least) for a Legends figure from Matty and in the Flashback line we can get it for $20 and/or sometimes even less with all the sales that retail stores have. If Mattel avoids completely making Windham as well as Magnum then Ill officially chalk it up as Mattel dropped the ball on the Legends/Flashbacks line. They can blame customers all they want but its all on them.

Now if someone could get that through the thick skulls at corprate we would be all set lol then again all of the cena, rey, orton and other warmers dont sell , but they constantly get new figures. So if their theory is legends line is dead because of sales should the cena, rey, orton, big show and others that warm should be canceled also due to sales. Their response was just a bull sh*t corporate line.

Windham was one of the choices for that didnt get picked in their poll for 5 legends figures to make. Others were JYD, Savio Vega, , Doink, Tito Santana and Magnum TA. There was a couple more I think cant remember. I really dont think we will see any of these but you never know.

I always wondered if it were because Matty and the WWE believe Cena, Orton, and Rey are what kids really go for in their decision making, especially since it's cheaper to reuse their parts for new figures rather than new headsculpts and accessories for guys like Magnum T.A. and Windham (whom I'd buy up in a heartbeat)

Both figures are not only easy to make but actually very cheap as they have little to no accessories as well as the paint deco is very limited. Lets use CM Punk for example. With all his tattoos, trunks designs, shirts/titles etc...He's a very expensive figure to make. Knowing Mattel has "financial limits" on lines. It would benefit them greatly by putting more money into Punk and less money into a Flashback like Windham rather then having to struggle getting all the deco into Punk as well as getting all the deco into someone like Doink or Billy Gunn. If you stick a Diva (say a simple Trish Stratus) in the Flasbacks line as well as Barry Windham, you're getting almost double bang for you buck as Trish is basically a $10 figure that you're selling for $20 and you're releasing a figure in Windham that's dirt cheap to make and that puts more money into deco for like Ryback. That would give you 3 "First time in Line" figures in one Elite Series and then RSC and Mattel could do the running man all the way to the bank.

Barry Windham is the number 1 Legend on my want list!
I've been hoping that maybe we could someday get a Windham/Magnum .5 short runs, like they did with Nash/Diesel. Have Barry in the first run & Magnum in the second. Only due to the fact that they would use some similar parts. And that way us old school fans would be happy, & they'd be without fear that the shelves would be clogged. Just a thought.

The legends line is dead in the water if I am not correct 'Tis. I made this thread to be hypothetical, since the line is dead, if there was potential for Windham to hit the FB route

I am dying for them to make a Windham figure. I just picked up Tully and Arn for Christmas that already look pretty good with a Jakks Ric Flair.

I never did see Kelly or Nash in my stores.

But I'd rather have to pay extra than not get em at all.

Both figures are not only easy to make but actually very cheap as they have little to no accessories as well as the paint deco is very limited. And this is the very reason why people who don't know Windham or Magnum or don't care about them won't buy them. I don't watch current WWE stuff, but when I saw the proto for the basic Tensai figure, I said "I want that guy in my figure fed" and I don't even know anything about him. But he has the look. I personally DO want a Barry Windham. I had his galoob figure when I was a kid, and to me he was a Four Horseman with Flair, Arn and Sid Vicious because those were the Horsemen when I was started following WCW. I never bought Tully because I don't have any memories of him, he's a boring figure, and I'm not going to go conduct a research project just so I can pay 20+ dollars to feel justified in getting him. My personal collection doesn't need him or Magnum TA. But I fear guys like Windham will not see the light of day so long as the legends line is dead. He has no crossover appeal, which is why I think Papa Shango was given the flashback treatment.
