Alright, so currently I am taking Guitar lessons. I know eventually I will have to pick a song and play it, but I feel like I'll only play recent songs. So I want to mix it up and go old school. I've heard a handful of these bands' songs, but not a lot. So in your opinion, what are your Top 10 songs of:
Queen The Beatles Guns N' Roses Nirvana AC/DC Grateful Dead Green Day Linkin Park
Any help is appreciated. ;D

I'll speak only for the bands I enjoy.
If you're a beginner, I probably wouldn't touch many queen songs. I'm not a massive fan, but under pressure is good.
The Beatles:
I'm So Tired I get by with a little help from my friends Here Comes the Sun Hey Jude Come Together She Loves You Twist and Shout Let It Be Elanor Rigby Yesterday
Guns N Roses Sweet Child o' Mine November Rain You Could Be Mine Knockin' On Heavens door (Dylan really, but they covered it and you asked) Paradise City Welcome to the Jungle
Nirvana (I'll include the covers from their unplugged album): Come As You Are Heart Shaped Box Man Who Sold The World In Bloom About A Girl Plateau Jesus Doesn't want me for a sunbeam All Apologies Lithium Pennyroyal tea.
Honestly just all of them, except smells like teenspirit, sure it's easy and a classic, but it's become such a cliche.
Green Day Basket Case Good Riddence When I come around Minority
Just stick to anything before 2004 and you'll be just fine.
Linkin Park arn't really known for their fantastic guitar.
I'd suggest some of the following artists that will really help get you going:
The Kinks- Great for learning simple bar chords, also good for this are The Ramones. Bob Dylan- Great for your open chords mostly and swapping between them. The Pixies- If you like nirvana, you'll probably like them, alot of their songs are supprisingly simple so they're a great band to be able to play along with and just get the feel of things.
There's probably more, but it's late here, hope I helped!

I don't have 10 for each, so I'm only doing 5 or less, and they aren't in any particular order, just as I remember them. Also, I'm thinking in terms of guitar since that's what you are looking for, along with them being fairly well known songs (so other people will hopefully know what you are playing), not necessarily their best overall songs. Depending on your skill level, some of these will be WAY too difficult, but they can always be a good goal for you to work towards. Queen -Stone Cold Crazy -Bohemian Rhapsody (Solos) -Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Good for changing some open chords) -We Will Rock You (Guitar comes in at the end; some good stuff in there to work on) -Tie Your Mother Down The Beatles -While My Guitar Gently Weeps -Blackbird (Great finger-picking exercise) -Yesterday -Day Tripper -Here Comes the Sun Guns N' Roses -Sweet Child o' Mine (I don't care how many people have played it before, it's a great exercise to build speed, and the last solo can be fairly difficult for a beginner) -Welcome To the Jungle -Don't Cry -Patience -Civil War Nirvana -Smells like Teen Spirit (Again, I don't care how "cliche" it is, it will help build your strumming technique. No doubt in my mind.) -Heart Shaped Box -Drain You -Polly -Stay Away AC/DC (So simple, but they are crowd (friend/family) pleasers) -Back In Black -Thunderstruck -Highway to Hell -For Those About to Rock -TNT Grateful Dead -Truckin' -Alabama Getaway Green Day -American Idiot -Wake Me Up When September Ends -Basket Case -When I Come Around I recommend you checking out this channel on YouTube as well as working with tabs. I've learned so much from this guy. www.youtube.com/user/martyzsongs?feature=CAQQwRs%3D
