Hello figure folks,
I don't come around these parts often aside from the occasional complaining about how crappy the distribution is around my area. I'm not too happy with how it's more or less impossible to find lowcarders and one-per-casers for a fair and decent price.
But I finally got lucky, and it's time to show off.
One of the few figures on my already selective hitlist was Mike McGillicutty. He's become one of my favorite lowcarders on the roster both in the ring and on the mic; his series with Tyson Kidd really won me over. I also absolutely adore his entrance song. Thankfully they made him due to his tag team run last year (ironically, back then I didn't give a crap about him. Lol).
Sadly, my three closest Walmarts don't even have two packs anymore. None of those ones have done the 'reset' yet.
But I drove about an hour away to do some back-to-school clothes shopping and decided to stop in at that somewhat distant Walmart. I found a lot of Randys (with Ryan, with Christian, and with Barrett). The latest BP series with no Ziggler/Ryders (not a must-buy for me but a cool set that I may buy). No BP 17s at all, which was odd. I never saw that random trent guy that everyone on the internet is always talking about. Hmm.
On the front peg I was stared down by Micheal McGillicutty. Finally. Finally!!!!
(I threw the shirts there for the lulz. They were buy-one-get-one half off at Hot Topic. Even though the Bryan one is now outdated I do enjoy it. And the Punk one is awesome, too.)
Here is where the pack fits in my collection as of now- among the loose and legends. More or less the centerpiece of my collection for now. I might get bored with it and rotate Macho/Punk into that spot. Maybe I could put another loose figure right in the middle in front of that "Battle Pack" logo...
DAT SCAN.
I love this figure. The face and the hair look spot on.
In person the head looks kind of big on the torso, but Michael does have a pretty wide-looking face.
Oh, I forgot about Otunga. Gotta say that his torso and his attire look awesome. I now have all two of his figures, and this one blows the Tarver pack one out of the water.
If I end up getting a certain mail receiving by the end of this week, I think I will do a huge thread showing my complete MOC set up (and maybe some more snippets of my nerd cave.)
EDIT-
One of my closer Walmarts still has an ENTIRE endcap of B13 minus Vickie that they put out in May. I don't think anything moved from that section. I at least found some nice Batman figures there, and made my way to the regular WWE section in the aisles.
A ton of B13. Some B10s left over. E15 minus Yokozuna.
But on the bottom shelf. There were... two-packs. Just Rey/Miz in sight. I shoveled one of those aside. And finally.
Found.
Trent.
ONETWOTHREEFOUR!!!!
I marked out in the middle of the aisle. For real.
(and the random cop and Catperson from the latest Bat-film were cool, too.)
Thing is, I'm about to receive a Trent from the mail from a close personal friend of mine, a certain Legend who I hope is reading this now. I think I will place that one in the middle of Michael and David in the loose section, as the true centerpiece of my collection. Or if he wants it back I can ship it back. Whatever. I'm happy I found it and couldn't pass it up.
I couldn't pass up the fact that I found my two sought after one-per-case two packs in two days. And a true Dudebustist will collect all the Trentyfigures he or she can possibly find. Okay maybe not really. It's worth noting that I went to Kmart afterward and finally saw Sin Cara/Bryan for the first time, and a lone Bella Twins pack (contemplated buying it for trade, but whatever, it's not worth the hassle).
I'm so damn glad they actually made a Trent. But in all honesty, even if it takes a year or two, I hope they are able to slip another one into the line. I don't like the huge facial features like the exaggerated nose and wrinkles. The head overall is a little too big IMO, and I really don't understand why they gave him a short trunk lower body and just painted the legs. The knees especially look too thin. I think they should've done kneepads over the tights (Trent wears them underneath, but they are rather pronounced in his attires.)
But I'm willing to overlook those things. They made a Trent and I found one.
This is my first Mark Henry figure since the crappy AD pack one with the cloth singlet and the outdated ponytail head. It's bulky, big, and great looking. I'm glad to own a cool looking version of a Banter legend.
Boo yah. Dude Busters 4 lyfe.
Here's my current, end-of-summer display:
Threw on WWF super wrestlemania just for an okay-ish background
Other side of my giant video game/loose collection shelf:
These are some spares that have no place in the display. Let me know if you really want something off of that pile except the Edge.
Well, I think that’s finally it. My zomgMustHaves list now only has the new elite Dolph, Flashback Christian, Hawkins/Brodus, Sandow, and Ryback.
Maybe I’ll find and buy some Ryders during my waiting time. Until then, my friends, take care and spike your receding jobber hair. .
