I'm not sure if I'm right here but there's was a stretch of time last year that really dragged as a collector who ordered online...I beleive it was after SDCC like it has been this year.
It seems like ages since I got Elite 16 through the post and only Double A has kept me going and interested. I have Beth, Mason Ryan and Christain with his great new headsculpt coming this month but nothing can beat getting Elites/Legends through the post.
You can tell by posts on here it's a really slow time to be a collector and I'm counting down the days for Elite 17 to show its self....
Am I right? What's your thoughts?
P.S yes I do have other things to do but I'm talking as a WWE Mattel collector (mainly elites).

You're right. I have all of E15 and I am just waiting until E16 hits retail, which won't be a while

I actually never experience a boring time during the year, due to the fact that I am ALWAYS on the lookout (Ebay, Classifieds, and so on) to add figures to my collection, so that also includes the older ones that I don't have yet, but want to have. So for that matter, I am not dependent of the newer figures coming out.

It's not boring at all. I don't pre-order or make early purchases online. I usually buy strictly retail. I am always on the hunt for the goods.

Not so much boring, but as chew said, my bank account can finally recover a little bit. I'm sure within the next month or so you'll be able to purchase Basics 25 and Elite 19.

just waiting for E16 to hit so I can get Slater. Last figure I bought before the $6 basics was...hmm...I think E14 John Cena when it was first on MattelShop. So it's been like 3 months since I've bought a figure from retail. That figure was E16 Punk. ;D

Not necessarily boring, but not seeing anything new in stores is getting really old. Stores not restocking when there is clearly nothing on the shelf/pegs, other people buying everything first thing in the morning, and low supply. Back in the Jakks days I was able to find anything and everything I wanted without having to ever buy from online or other collector's shops. Nowadays, especially since I'm the one spending money to drive, it seems I drive and drive to handfuls of stores a day and I'm left empty handed. Don't get me wrong I love the feeling of finding that treasure during a good "hunt" but I think I'd be happier if it was easier to get a hold of the figures I'm looking for without driving to 5-8 different stores at a time. Food for thought.

I started collecting late in the Mattel line so I spend lots of time & money on eBay trying to catch up!

I get what ur saying but its even worse for a collector like me who only collects diva cause they are not out as often as most! And the worst part ever since Mattel took over was the year when basic 11 eve came out that year diva wise was completely terrible, there were barely any divas and the ones that came out weren't my favorites at all! I would have to say this year was the best for me I mean I got the Bella's, Kelly, nattie, Beth, Kelly, Alicia, aj, eve, and Liz! Sorry rant over lol!

us Legends/Flashback collectors have it the worst. hardly nothing ever new to see or talk about or buy. you buy the 1 or 2 flashbacks and 1 legend and my collecting is over until 1 or 2 more come out. FRIKIN SUCKS to a legends collector. THANKS MATTEL!
love coming to the boards to only see threads of what stores have or dont have and pics of customs and collections.
When Jakks was running CS, there was news or talk everyday on here of new figs or ones just signed or ones coming out. then we had Jeremy.com givin us news pretty much weekly on new figs/signings.
Jakks seemd like they were out to make a huige line of legneds, mattel seems like they just want to make a buck. SAD part is, there are plenty of collectors who would buy more legends, but not at $35 a pop on matty. and not flooded with 6 cases per store of sgt Slaughter & Brian pillman.
my walmart.target always sold the 1st 2-3 cases of legends, but were unabl to sell a 4th or 5th, and fans didnt buy enough, so the line was cancelled.
bushwackers,piper/orton,sheik/volkoff didnt sell 100,000 units. Well gotta cancel that line its not selling or making money. WTF! ONE TRY with Horrible picks. Not something you'd expect from one of the top toy lines EVER in Mattel!

Not for me, we've had elite 16 and basic 20 for 3 weeks. So I'm just waiting for 21 to hit retail. It's gave me time to fill in holes I'm my basic and battle pack collection.
